Riot Games has outlined the upcoming patch 12.21 changes, buffing champions like Ahri & Malzahar and nerfing Blitzcrank & Bel’Veth.
Another patch is upon us, as Riot Games will release a new one soon. Patches are introduced to balance the game and keep things fresh and get the meta to rotate. This effect is more pronounced in esports games as the meta can define wins and losses at the highest level.
Patch 12.20 released a bunch of changes to the game. A myriad of changes were done, containing champion buffs to Gwen, Rammus, etc., while to Sett, Aatrox, and Maokai. Elise and Blitzcrank got champion adjustments to clarify their style for the meta going forward, and many items and runes got their buff, nerfs, and balance changes.
This further reinforces the idea of the balance team to make the game more open. Watching Worlds 2022 is enough proof that many champions are viable picks at the moment. The changes in Patch 12.20 further draw that idea in to give Blitzcrank a way to be in the jungle role, nerfing stronger champions like Aatrox and Maokai, and lastly, giving weaker champions some oomph.
Riot Phroxzon explained the changes were done to improve some champions, nerfing strong ones and adjusting items to fit the purpose the balance team wants them to be.
Thus, Patch 12.21 was announced to adjust the game before the preseason patch. Patch 12.21 is short as the balance team focuses on the preseason patch’s quality level. Thus, Patch 12.21 is to address some outliers, not to make major changes.
Riot Phroxzon laid out what changes are coming. In terms of buffs, Ahri, Corki, Xin Zhao, Malzahar, and Rumble are getting improved stats on abilities or base stats. Moreover, Malzahar and Rumble are getting last-hit assistance.
Regarding champion nerfs, Blitzcrank, Bel’Veth, and Miss Fortune are getting a hit. Given how strong Miss Fortune was for quite a few patches and that the buffs were too overturned Blitzcrank in the past patches, it makes sense. Bel’Veth’s changes lean more towards getting some of her stats down to make her more balanced.
No system adjustments are being made, as that is being left for the preseason patch.

All Out: This ability’s cooldown is reduced and no longer slows.
W – Path Maker
Begin Charging: K’Sante raises his weapons defensively for a short duration, becoming Unstoppable, and reduces incoming damage.
Release: K’Sante rams forward, dealing a percentage of max health physical damage, knocking back and stunning enemies he passes through for a short duration based on the charge time.

E – Footwork
K’Sante dashes, gaining a shield for a short duration. If dashing to an ally, the distance is significantly increased, and they are also shielded.
Other abilities can be cast during Footwork.
R – All Out
K’Sante shatters his tonfas, dealing physical damage and knocking back an enemy champion. Enemy champions that hit a wall will instead take greater damage, are knocked over the wall, and are briefly stunned. K’Sante then dashes after the enemy and goes All Out for an extended duration
