Riot confirms some much-needed nerfs for Blitzcrank, Bel’Veth & Miss Fortune.
As Patch 12.21 is only a few days away, Riot has announced all the balance changes. The changes include nerfs to Blitzcrank, Bel’Veth & Miss Fortune.
Blitzcrank had been struggling for a while, and to remedy the situation, Riot on Patch 12.19 had given him some massive buffs. The Blitzcrank buffs were primarily geared towards making him into a Toplaner/Jungler, but it turns out the buffs made Support Blitzrank a tad too strong.
Blitzcrank currently stands atop the support meta with almost a whopping 54% win rate and a 33% ban rate with a healthy 10% play rate. Such a massive win rate/ban rate for a champion with one of the most game-changing abilities in the game is frankly quite absurd. So, Riot is planning to nerf Blitzcrank in Patch 12.21.
Bel’Veth is one of the newest champions in League of Legends and has been somewhat problematic since her release. Being a champion that scales infinitely, she is pretty hard to balance. She is either overpowered or very weak; there’s no in-between, it seems. This time she is on the overpowered side.
Bel’Veth is currently one of the top Junglers in Solo-Queue, with a 52% win rate and a massive 32% ban rate. She also has an excellent professional play presence. So it’s no surprise she is getting nerfed next patch.
Miss Fortune has been one of the strongest ADCs since her mini-rework in patch 12.17. Unfortunately, even after many nerfs, she has remained too strong. So Riot on Patch 12.21 is planning on nerfing her again. Hopefully, this will put Miss Fortune in a balanced state.
Miss Fortune currently has a 15% pick rate with a 52% win rate and a 10 percent ban rate. She also is a priority pick in this year’s Worlds 2022.
