Here are all the Eikons you can summon in Final Fantasy 16 and the powers they grant.
Although the classic Final Fantasy Summons did not return in Final Fantasy 16 (FF16), the gods remain a prominent part of its story. Summon in FF16 has been replaced with the newly introduced concept of Eikons, allowing you to draw the power of gods instead of just using them for one powerful, all-out attack.
Gods such as Shiva, Titan, Ramuh, and more make a return as Eikons in the franchise’s latest installment, granting Dominants different elemental abilities to use in battle. That’s right, being a Dominant means you act as a human host for the gods, allowing you to transform into them and fight other Eikons head-on.

That said, none of the Eikons are missable in Final Fantasy, as you’ll unlock all of their powers through the main story progression. If you want to learn about all the Eikons in FF16 and their powers, then we’ve got you covered.
List of All Eikons in FF16
There are a total of 8 unlockable Eikons in Final Fantasy 16. Below are all the Eikons you will find in the game, along with their unlock chapter and abilities.
Phoenix
- Dominant – Joshua Rosfield
- Quest Unlocked – Sunrise, Sunset
Phoenix is the first Eikon you unlock in the game, granting you the power of Flames. You inherit its power from Clive’s little brother, Joshua Rosfield, in the first main quest of the game.
Phoenix Abilities:
- Phoenix Shift
- Rising Flames
- Scarlet Cyclone
- Heatwave
- Flames of Rebirth
Ifrit
- Dominant – Clive Rosfield
- Quest Unlocked – The Meaning of Life
Ifrit is the second Eikon of Flames in Final Fantasy 16, making it a unique case since there can only be one Eikon of a particular element. Although Clive himself is the Dominant controlling Ifrit, you won’t unlock his powers until the seventeenth main quest.
Ifrit Abilities:
- Limit Break
- Will-o-the-Wykes
- Ignition
Garuda
- Dominant – Benedikta Harman
- Quest Unlocked – Wings of Change
Garuda is the Eikon of Wind, and the first Eikon Clive gets to fight in the game. Benedikta Harman, the Commander of Waloed’s Elite Intelligencers, controls her. Her abilities include launching enemies into the air or toppling large bosses. You will unlock her powers in the seventh main quest of FF16.
Garuda Abilities:
- Deadly Embrace
- Gouge
- Wicked Wheel
- Rook’s Gambit
- Aerial Blast
Ramuh
- Dominant – Cidolfus Telamon
- Quest Unlocked – The Crystal’s Curse
Everyone’s favorite Lightning God returns as the Eikon of Thunder in FF16. Although Cidolfus Telamon controls Ramuh, you will receive his blessing at the end of the twenty-second main quest of the game.
Ramuh Abilities:
- Blind Justice
- Pile Drive
- Thunderstorm
- Lightning Rod
- Judgment Bolt
Typhon
- Dominant – Ultima
- Quest Unlocked – The Crystal’s Curse
Typhon is less of a god and more of a monster, with its appearance resembling a severed human torso that floats in the air. It is one of the few Eikons that only appears in a boss fight, so you don’t actually inherit any powers from it.
Titan
- Dominant – Hugo Kupka
- Quest Unlocked – Bolts from the Blue
Titan is another classic Final Fantasy Summon that appears as the Eikon of Earth. Hugo Kupka, the economic advisor of the Dhalmekian Republic, controls him. Titan excels in physical strength above all else, so he can lift up the ground and throw boulders as projectiles. You will unlock his powers in the twenty-ninth main quest of the game.
Titan Abilities:
- Titanic Block
- Windup
- Upheaval
- Raging Fists
- Earthen Fury
Titan Lost
- Dominant – Hugo Kupka
- Quest Unlocked – Bolts from the Blue
Making a brief appearance in the same quest, Titan Lost is the second form of Titan after his Dominant becomes one with Aether. As such, you gain no abilities from Titan in his Lost form.
Bahamut
- Dominant – Dion Lesage
- Quest Unlocked – Fire in the Sky
Perhaps the strongest Summon in the game, Bahamut is the Eikon of Light. Although, it is more fitting for Bahamut to be characterized as an Elder Dragon than a god in FF16. Bahamut, the Deadwyrm, is controlled by the Crown Prince of the Holy Empire of Sanbreque. You will unlock its powers in the thirty-fourth main quest of the game.
Bahamut Abilities:
- Wings of Light
- Impulse
- Flare Breath
- Satellite
- Gigaflare
Shiva
- Dominant – Jill Warrick
- Quest Unlocked – Through the Maelstrom
Shiva is also another Final Fantasy staple that returns in FF16 as the Eikon of Ice. The Frost goddess can use powerful ice skills that freeze opponents in their tracks. Although you unlock her powers in the forty-fourth main quest, Shiva remains in control of her Dominant and your companion, Jill Warrick.
Shiva Abilities:
- Cold Snap
- Ice Age
- Mesmerize
- Rime
- Diamond Dust
Odin
- Dominant – Barnabas Tharmr
- Quest Unlocked – The Last King
The mighty Odin makes a comeback in FF16 as the Eikon of Darkness. He is also the last Summon you will unlock in the game. Odin stands out from the rest of the crowd because, in addition to unlocking powerful skills, your equipped weapon will also be replaced with Odin’s Zantetsuken. You will unlock Odin’s power during the forty-seventh main quest.
Odin Abilities:
- Arm of Darkness
- Gungnir
- Heaven’s Cloud
- Rift Slip
- Dancing Steel
Leviathan the Lost
- Dominant – N/A
- Quest Unlocked – N/A
Sadly, the great sea serpent, Leviathan, does not physically appear in Final Fantasy 16 and is only depicted in ancient murals. As it turns out, the Eikon of Water mysteriously disappeared and never returned. So, there is no way of knowing what happened to Leviathan in the game.
