If you’re searching for the new CS 2 Inferno smoke lineups for the T and CT sides, then you’re in luck!
Counter-Strike 2 is Valve’s latest release. It is also a much-anticipated upgrade to the ever-popular CS:GO title. Valve has brought over the major Counter-Strike elements from Global Offensive and implemented them into the Source 2 engine. So, most of the changes remain almost identical to the original game.
However, as CS 2 uses the upgraded Source engine, many visual and sound differences can be noticed. Moreover, CS 2 introduced some new features like sub-ticks and volumetric smoke that changed the game’s overall feel.
Apart from the subtle changes, Valve also made some noticeable overhauls to two existing maps in Counter-Strike. One of the maps is Inferno. Although Inferno’s fundamental layout and features are still there, the new map structure requires innovative smoke lineups.

Inferno Smoke Lineups in Counter-Strike 2
Because Valve completely revamped Inferno, previous lineups that worked in CS:GO no longer work in the newer version. However, that should not prevent anyone from enjoying the new Inferno.
So, to make your life easier, we’ve discovered all of the smoke lineups required to control the critical areas in Inferno. The guide will also include smoke lineups for both the CT and T sides, ensuring that you don’t fall short in any way while playing the new Inferno.
Most smokes in this guide will require you to use the jump throw. If you don’t know what jump-throw is or how it works, we recommend you go through this article beforehand.
Inferno Smoke Lineups for T-Side
Here, we’ll showcase all the important smoke lineups for the T side. These will include all the smoke lineups that’ll help you take any site and execute any basic strategy in the CS 2 Inferno. So, let’s get onto it.
A-Short Smoke from Second-Mid
You can easily smoke A-short from the second mid, as you used to in the previous version. To do so, go to the second-mid, just before the CT apartment, and look for the small arch door, as shown below.
Position yourself in the center of the right door frame of the left Arch door.
Now, turn around and look up. Aim into the sky from between the third and fourth wooden beams of the CT apartment roof, as shown in the image below. Make sure your crosshair is centered between the two roofs. Now equip your smoke and use left-click to throw.
The smoke will take about 9 seconds to pop and will perfectly block off A-short.
Inside Arch Smoke from Second-Mid
If you want to wrap A-site around A-long, you must smoke off the Arch so that you can cross safely without getting killed. To smoke off inside the Arch, go to the second-mid before the T-apartment entrance. Get into the corner before the closed door shown below.
Now, aim into the triangular section from the fourth wooden beam, as shown below. Equip the smoke and use left-click + jump-throw.
The smoke will land inside the Arch in about 7.5 seconds and perfectly block it off.
Library Smoke from Second-Mid
Similar to Inside Arch, the Library is an important area to smoke if you want to wrap A-site from A-long. Moreover, the smoke comes in handy while executing a mid-to-B strategy. To smoke off the Library, come to the second-mid before the CT apartment area. Find the closed window and line yourself up in front of the middle of the left window frame, as shown below.
Turn around and look at T apartment’s ceiling. Aim for the + intersection of the second and third wooden beams. Now, while the smoke is equipped, use left-click + jump-throw.
The smoke will take about 8.5 seconds to land and perfectly block off the inside of the Library.
A-Long Smoke from Second-Mid
A long smoke can also be done from the second-mid area. To line up the smoke, come to the second-mid under the CT apartments. Get into the small corner between the two stairs, as shown below.
Now look up at the rain gutter attached to the CT apartment ceiling. Aim at the tip of the first bracket that is close to the wall you’re hugging. Now, while the smoke is equipped, use the left-click + jump-throw.
The smoke will take about 10 seconds to pop and perfectly block off the A-long side.
Moto Smoke from Second-Mid
Smoking off Moto becomes a necessity if you don’t want to get sniped by AWPers while crossing to A-site from A-short or jumping down from A-apartment. To smoke off Moto, come to second-mid and find the right-side corner beside the red door of the T apartment entrance.
Now, look at the ceiling of the pink-colored building. Find the bracket from the rain gutter from the right side and aim a little above the tip of the bracket. Aiming slightly above is important; otherwise, your smoke may not land perfectly. After lining up the smoke correctly, use jump + left-click to throw the smoke.
The Smoke will take about 9.5 seconds to land and perfectly block off the moto area.
Pit Smoke from Mid
Pit smoke isn’t as essential as the other smokes in Inferno. It is recommended to take fights and clear the Pit so you can play after-plants properly. However, sometimes the pit players can be really nuisance and ruin your overall strategy. In those cases, smoking off the Pit is generally a good option.
You can smoke Pit from the drain near the T-ramp. First, take control of the mid area and be aware of CT peeks. After clearing the mid area, drop into the drain and get into the very back corner, as shown below.
Now, look above the CT mid-entrance and locate the opened window. Aim at the very tip of the right part of the window door and use left-click + jump-throw while the smoke is equipped.
The smoke will perfectly land before the pit in about 7 seconds and block off any enemy vision. Be careful, however, as the mini-pit is still open.
Banana Car Smoke from T-Base
Usually, you want to take banana control as fast as possible using your utility. However, once in a while, you’ll meet that one annoying AWPer who won’t miss any shots and won’t let you take control of the banana.
To prevent that from happening, you can smoke off the car area and slowly take control of the banana. To do that, come to the T apartment entrance outside the T-base. Get into the corner between the door frame and the railing.
Now, turn around and look up. For this to work, you need the Classic or Desktop Viewmodel. If you have a Classic Viewmodel, then line-up the tip of your smoke grenade with the left corner of the window ceiling, as shown in the picture below. Now, use left-click + jump-throw while the smoke is equipped.
If you have a Desktop Viewmodel, then line-up the tip of your smoke grenade between the rain gutter pipes of the same building, as shown below. Now, use the left-click + jump-throw to release the smoke.
The smoke will take about 12 seconds to land and perfectly block off enemies’ vision behind the half-wall and barrels. Remember that the CT side can still push forward early and take control of the banana. In that case, the smoke won’t be as effective. So, use this smoke only when the enemies are not taking control of the whole banana area.
Coffin Smoke from Banana
B smokes are probably the easiest to throw in the new Inferno. To throw B-coffin smoke, come to the banana and get into the corner between the half-wall and the right-side wall.
While crouching, look at the second light of the fairy lights from the right side. Now, use left-click to throw the smoke.
The smoke will take about 6 seconds to pop and perfectly block off the coffin and construction.
Inferno Smoke Lineups for CT-Side
The CT-side smokes aren’t as effective as the ones on the T-sides. However, learning those extra smokes might help you win those extra round. And as we all know, every round matters in Counter-Strike. So, don’t leave any chance to luck and learn the basic CT smokes in Inferno. But don’t worry! There are only a few smokes to learn on the CT-side.
Banana Smoke from Outside Church/ Construction
If you find opponents who like to rush B nonstop, this banana smoke from church/ construction may help you stop them. To smoke the banana half-wall, come right before the entrance of the church. Get into the corner beside the flower pot.
Now, turn around. Look above the yellow building and locate the antenna. Aim at the very top-right side of the antenna and use the left-click to throw the smoke.
The smoke will take about 5.5 seconds to land and perfectly block off the banana half-wall.
Mid-Cross Smoke from CT-Base
While you can normally throw the smoke at mid while going to A-long or short, it is always a good idea to smoke earlier to take a good position if enemies rush into A. Moreover, if your team is playing only 2 CTs at A, having a B player smoke the mid-crossing from CT can save the A players one extra piece of smoke. By smoking early, A players can also cross to the CT apartment and peek second-mid easily.
To smoke mid-crossing from CT, go to the corner between the wall and the picture frame as shown below, as soon as possible after you respawn.
Turn around and align your crosshair between the two gable roofs. Now, use left-click + jump-throw to release the smoke.
The smoke will take 6 seconds to land and block off the CT mid-entrance completely.
