Counter-Strike 2 has changed very little from the core gameplay of CS:GO. A huge difference between the two games is that Skybox is open on all the maps. This has affected lineups on some maps more than others. We will be covering some of the more essential smokes for CS2.
Today, we will take a look at the lineups for Ancient. These are the lineups you will need in your arsenal. Surprise your enemies and take sites easily with our essential smoke lineups.
Ancient Smoke Lineups in Counter-Strike 2
To make your life easier, we’ve discovered all of the smoke lineups required to control the critical areas in Ancient. The guide will also include smoke lineups for both the CT and T sides, ensuring that you don’t fall short in any way while playing Ancient in CS2.
Most smokes in this guide will require you to use the jump throw. If you don’t know what jump-throw is or how it works, we recommend you go through this article beforehand.
Ancient T-Side Lineups
T-side on Ancient is difficult to approach. The sightlines for the CT-side allow Awpers to rain terror. Angles have to be smoked off, and the opposition must be denied vision in order for the T-side to get map control and set up site takes. Here are some of the essential smokes on Ancient
Right from spawn, you can set up a few smokes to start the round by denying the opposition information and map control.
Line up against the right side of the pillar in spawn. Position yourself around the middle of the structure.
Aim at the top of the wooden gate in front of the spawn. Line up your crosshair in between the second and third stone pyramid shapes on the wall. Then you have to jump-throw.
The smoke will block the vision for Red Room, allowing you to take mid-control during the start of the round.
Line up against the stone window frame outside of the mid entrance from the T-base.
Aim at the top of the binding rope next to the scaffold.
Left-click throw to smoke donut from T-base middle.
A Site Smokes
A site is difficult to take without blocking off certain angles. There are almost 4 different angles you might have to clear with, which is difficult at a higher level. It is better to execute on to the site with our easy-to-master lineups.
Go to the far left corner outside of A-main and crouch.
While crouched, line up your crosshair in the middle where the horizontal stone outlines intersect the vertical ones to the left of the entrance.
While crouched, jump-throw the smoke.
A Donut Smoke
Use the railing on the left side of the A Main entrance to position yourself.
Aim at the top second opening of the left-most row of the “X” pattern wall.
While standing, jum-throw the smoke.
The B-site on Ancient is a bit more technical and considerably easier to take when compared to A. There are fewer angles to check, and most of them can be blocked off easily, as we will show here. These smokes can be essential to taking the Swing round and regaining momentum.
To line up your smokes, go to the corner outside of the B-doors from T-spawn.
Line up your crosshair at the bottom of the stone slab above the doors and between the two sets of square decorations.
Jump-throw the smoke.
Stand in the same position as the previous smoke. Both the smokes can be thrown simultaneously for a quick execution.
Aim in the middle of the three stone cones on the right side of the B-doors.
Jump-throw the smoke while standing.
Ancient CT-Side Smokes
CT-side smokes are mainly used to take control of some areas of the map quickly. This helps you to rotate off those areas and reinforce other parts.
Line up with the bright stone sticking out on the wall on the way to B.
Aim between the two stones on the second pillar.
Jump-throw to block off B-main vision and prevent rushes and early picks.
Stand on the left wall of the entrance to the Red Room.
Aim at the vine below the loops where the leaf sticks out.
Stand and throw the smoke to block off mid.
These essential Ancient smokes will help you get the edge over your opponent. These are easy to use and remember. So, the next time you get into premier matchmaking, you can surprise your enemies and teammates alike with your smoke setups.
