After 12 years since its release, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has finally received the update fans requested. Valve has announced Counter-Strike 2 as a free update to the fan-favorite CS:GO. CS2 was fully released on September 27, 2023.
Counter-Strike 2 smartly takes the best of CS:GO and makes it better. Utilizing the power of the Source 2 engine, CS 2 offers a lot of updates, like better lighting and rendering of the environment, new volumetric smokes, sub-tick servers, and many more. Altogether, these changes have put the popular competitive shooter on an equal footing with other modern games while conserving the fundamentals of good old CS:GO.

Nuke Smoke Lineups in Counter-Strike 2
Nuke has not seen any changes besides visual upgrades in CS2. Still, the map looks anew as it benefits from Source 2 lighting, including a physically based rendering system that produces realistic materials, lighting, and reflections.
The basic smoke lineups in Nuke have not changed much from the old CS:GO ones. However, many new smoke lineups are possible as there is no skybox anymore.
In this guide, we will cover all the critical smokes you will need to play competitive Nuke in CS 2, both for CT and T sides.
Some smokes in this guide will require you to use the jump throw. If you don’t know what jump-throw is or how it works, we recommend you read this article beforehand.
Nuke Smoke Lineups for T-Side
Here, we will guide you through some essential T-side smokes. This will include the basic ones and the ones you will need to execute fully. So, let’s begin.
Outside wall smokes
These might be the most familiar smokes in Nuke. You can easily make a wall of smoke to run outside towards the secret. For this execution, you will need a total of three smokes.
For the first wall smoke, lineup yourself with this corner of the truck just beside T-spawn

Look above to your right. Aim at the bottom-left corner of the third window.

Jump-throw the smoke, and this will land in front of the red container outside.

Now, for the second wall smoke, come to this side of the same white truck.

You need to look above to the building to your right and aim just at the top left corner of that building (not the railing.)

This will also need a jump-throw. The smoke will pop right before the secret. This smoke, combined with the previous one, will completely block off the CTs’ visions while you push the secret area.

The last one might be the most crucial. This is the cross smoke you might need every time, even if you don’t intend to do all the wall smokes.
For this one, aim above the middle of the second fence and do a run throw.

You need to let the smoke go while you pass this container.

This will smoke the left side of the red container.

If you throw all three smokes together, this will create a wall. Allowing you to enter the secret safely.

Vent Smoke to Cross Vent
Rushing B from the vent through smoke is a renowned strategy in Nuke. To do this Vent smoke, go to this corner just outside T-spawn.

Aim at this garage just opposite the corner. Aim your crosshair on the third line on the right side of the light vertically. For the horizontal line-up, you can take the second bar of the yellow ladder as a reference.

Now, jump-throw, and you will smoke in front of the Vent successfully.

Note: Don’t forget to break the skylights beforehand. Otherwise, the smoke will not land correctly.
Heaven from T-Roof
This is another crucial smoke for an A-execute. To do the Heaven smoke, you must first go to the outside roof and jump on this pipe attached to the silo.

Line up yourself with this line of the reactor.

Look towards the skylight windows. Aim at the bottom of the second metal bar from the left.

Normal left click throw, and you will have your Heaven smoke.

Top Hut Smoke from Outside
The A-hut is one of the problematic angles to clear while entering the A-site. So you might want to smoke off the top of the A-hut. To do this, come to the right-side corner, just outside T-spawn.

Look toward the window on top of the opposite side’s building. Count the third metal section from the left and aim at the bottom of it.

Jump-throw, and you will get your top A-hut smoke. This one also required breaking the skylight beforehand.

B-site Smoke from Single Door
You can use this easy smoke as a cover from the ramp and control room while entering the B-site from a single door. To do this, go to this corner just outside the single door.

Look towards the single door. While keeping the door open, aim at the bottom right corner.

Normal left click throw and done.

Control Room Smoke from Ramp
If you are entering B-site from the ramp, CT might peek at you from the control room. You can easily smoke off this angle from the ramp. To do so, go to the left-side corner of this red box.

Look toward the red box. Find the second handle from the left. Aim at the bottom left corner of this metal.

It’s a simple left-click throw. This will totally smoke off the control room and give you one less angle to check.

Nuke Smoke Lineups for CT-Side
Nuke CT-side smokes are comparatively easy. However, they are pretty important to prevent fast T-side push.
Hut from A-Heaven
Come outside Heaven to this pillar.

Aim at the bottom right corner of the Hut door.

Just a left click, and you will block off the Hut with a smoke.

Mini Smoke from Heaven
Come to this corner, just on the right side of the Heaven.

Aim at the top left corner of Mini.

Left click and done.

Outside Aggressive Smoke (gla1ve smoke)
As a CT player, you can use this smoke to take early outside control. This is also known as gla1ve smoke after the name of the former famous Astralis player Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander.
To do this, smoke just runs outside, equipping smoke in hand, and aiming at this little blue box.

Throw your smoke while you pass this blue container.

This will give you essential cover to take fast outside control from the T-side.

There you go! These are all the essential smokes you need to play competitively in Nuke. Just remember to practice these lineups on the practice server before you queue for official matches.
