The new Overpass in Counter-Strike 2 may give you some trouble while using smokes. But don’t worry, as you can find all the necessary smoke lineups here.
Valve claims Counter-Strike 2 to be the “largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike’s history.” Until now, this has proved correct, as CS2 takes the best of CS:GO and makes the necessary updates while keeping the same fundamentals so that the fan-favorite shooter doesn’t lose its identity.
Taking advantage of the modern Source 2 engine, CS2 has introduced better lighting and environment rendering, more responsive sub-tick servers, volumetric smokes, and much more. All these changes made a noticeable difference in the overall visual and sound experience. Utilizing the map pools has also seen some changes.
CS 2 still features the old CS:GO maps. However, some of the maps have just seen some minor updates, while others have been fully revamped. Among the map pools right now, Overpass and Inferno have been completely overhauled.
Even though these two maps’ foundations are still the same, the layouts and angles have seen major changes. So, the new map structure requires innovative smoke lineups.

Overpass Smoke Lineups in Counter-Strike 2
The Overpass is one of the two maps that received complete rework in CS2. This means the map has been fully rebuilt from the ground up, leveraging all of the new Source 2 tools and rendering features.
The new overpass introduces many new angles and eradicates some old map points. As a result, most smoke-lineups from previous Overpass map do not work or might need a little tweaking. This guide will cover all the critical smoke lineups you will need to play the new overpass in CS2, for both the CT and T sides.
Some smokes in this guide will require you to use the jump throw. If you don’t know what jump-throw is or how it works, we recommend you go through this article beforehand.
Overpass Smoke Lineups for T-Side
Here, we’ll showcase all the essential smoke lineups for the T-side. These will include all the smoke lineups that’ll help you take any site and execute any basic strategy in the CS2 Overpass. So, let’s get into it.
A-site Execute Smoke from Short
If you plan to commit a full execution on A-site, you can use these smokes. You will need a total of three smokes to run this execution. The fun part is that all three smokes can be done from the same position. This will smoke the truck and both the left and right sides of the default box.
To do the smokes, line yourself in front of the right corner of this bench, located at the left side of the divider at A-short.

Now, to smoke the truck, aim at the right corner of the white part above the washroom sign. Now use left-click to throw the smoke.

To smoke in between the truck and default box, aim at the white part just above the female sign and slightly to the right. Then left-click.

Now, for the last smoke, line up your crosshair over the right side of the ”W” and aim slightly above the blue signboard. Now, use left-click, and this will smoke the left side of the default box.

Doing all three smokes at once will cover the whole A-site for you and let you plant easily.

Bank Smoke from A-Long
The bank is a crucial angle to smoke to push the defenders back and take control of the site. You can easily smoke Bank from A-long. To do so, you first need to take A-long control and come to this wall. Line up with the right edge of this pillar.

Aim at the intersection of the branches of this tree, right above the white umbrella.

Here’s how the smoke looks.

Dumpster Smoke from A-Long
To do the dumpster smoke from A-long come to this wall.

Stand, setting your back to the wall so that you can line up this lamp post and this pillar in a line.

Now, aim at the cross-section of the lamp post and the orange wall.

Jump-throw the smoke, and you will successfully smoke the dumpster.

Front Toilet Smoke From Playground
Go to the playground and find this slide.

Stand against the slide and line up with this pillar in front.

Line up your crosshair with the left edge of the pillar and aim at the sky, slightly below the thin branch, as shown.

Just left-click, and you will smoke the toilet entry. One less angle to be worried about!

Heaven Smoke from B-short
Haven is one of the favorite angles AWPers like to peek from. Thankfully, you can easily cover Heaven with this easy line-up. To do this, go to B-short water and find this wooden piece with ”B” on it.

Get stuck in between the left side of the wooden piece and the wall, and aim above. You will see this triangle. Put your crosshair at the left-bottom corner of the triangle. Now, use left-click to throw the smoke.

Here’s how the smoke looks.

B-site Barrel Smoke from Monster
Barrel is probably the first point you will get destroyed from entering B-site from Monster or Short. To smoke the barrel, go in front of the entry tunnel to B-short. Line up with this dark spot on the left side of the tunnel entrance.

Look at this wall. Aim at the middle of the pillar and line up as shown.

Left-click and done.

B-short Smoke from Monster
Go to the right corner of the monster entrance tunnel.

Look straight above. Aim using the metal’s corners as a reference.

A simple left-click throw, and you will get yourself a B-short smoke.

Overpass Smoke Lineups for CT-Side
Smokes are crucial utilities to block fast T-side push. These smokes provide CT-sides with more space to defend sites effectively. Here are some essential lineups you can use on the Overpass CT-side.
Monster Smoke from CT Spawn
This one is pretty interesting, as you can help your B players just from the A site spawn. To do this essential smoke, go to this corner at the dumpster.

Crouch and aim at this electric wire.

Now, this one is important. You must hold, crouch, and jump-throw to land the smoke perfectly.

B-short from CT Spawn
You can also smoke B-short from CT spawn. To do this, go to the same corner beside the A-dumpster.

This time, you do not need to crouch. Just stand normally and aim at the left corner of this triangle on the electric pole.

Just a simple left-click and done.

There you go! Now you know all the basic smokes needed to play Overpass. So go to the server and start practicing these smokes. If you need help practicing smoke lineups in CS2, look at this article.
