Riot Games confirmed that they are updating the ability icons of multiple champions in League of Legends.
There have been several champions released since League of Legends‘ initial release. But some of them barely received any proper updates. To make sure these champions can keep up with the everlasting game and its community, Riot updates these champions regularly.
In terms of champion updates, there are various types of them. Some of them are normal stat adjustments, slight ability rework, visual updates, ASU or Art and Sustainability Update, and VGU, Visual and Gameplay Update.
Since season 11, Riot has been working hard to keep all the outdated champions up to date. Because of it, they released an ASU for Caitlyn. It was such a huge success that they released an ASU for Ahri later down the line.
Regarding simple visual updates, Riot Games updated VFX for various champions like Fizz, Jax, etc. Not only that, they have updated the splash art for Kassadin, Hecarim, Rugged Garen, and Sivir. Riot has also confirmed that they will give Jax an entire visual overhaul before the end of the year. Additionally, we are also going to receive Lee Sin and Teemo ASU in the next season.
Recently, Riot released the newest dev log for League of Legends. And in that video, they confirmed that they are updating the ability icons for various champions.
