Riot has revealed they will give Jax a much-needed visual update in League of Legends.

Since the release of the game, there have been many champions who have come out. But some of them barely received any proper updates. To make sure these champions can keep up with the everlasting game and its community, Riot updates these champions.

These updates include stat adjustments, visual updates, ability overhauls (CGU), and Visual and Gameplay Updates. Recently Riot Games has been investing more in visual updates for champions.

Since season 11, we have received many visual updates. Firstly, Riot introduced a new type of update called ASU. ASU, or Art and Sustainability Update, is a new type of update where Riot overhauls a champion’s visual without changing their kit. And the first ASU they released was Caitlyn.

This update was a huge success, so they announced that Ahri would receive a similar update. Additionally, in season 12, Riot updated Kassadin’s splash art and reworked many champions’ VFX. This year, we have seen the release of Ahri’s ASU and many splash art changes like Hecarim, Rugged Garen, and Sivir.

In previous dev logs, Riot announced that Lee Sin and Teemo are the upcoming champions to receive ASU. And in the newest dev log, they announced that Jax would also receive a significant visual overhaul as well.

On that dev log, Riot mentioned that Jax was originally going to receive a full VGU or Visual and Gameplay Update. But the scope was too big, and they couldn’t ship the entire update simultaneously. So Jax’s gameplay parts were shipped as part of his mini-rework. And now Riot has revealed the other half of Jax’s update, visuals.
