Ranked LP has been changed once again in League of Legends Patch 13.6.

Patch 13.6 has rolled out as we have seen several changes along with Milio in League of Legends. Yuumi has been nerfed once more, and massive Vayne changes required some clarification from Riot. Although there were minor changes in the patch, some significant ones, like the Dragon changes, will shift the meta.

As we approach the end of Split 1 of Ranked soon, we have had quite a few changes this Season so far. The ranked season now has two splits, with every player capable of earning the Victorious Skins. There will be two Victorious Skins each year due to two splits in Ranked.

Since there are more ranked splits with a soft reset in the middle, Riot has been fine-tuning the LP gain and loss ratio. A few patches ago, Riot increased each tier’s overall LP gain and loss. This was done to help players climb faster in a shorter split and allow everyone to climb faster.

With that said, more changes are coming to the LP gains as Riot is doing more on it in Patch 13.6. Here is what we know so far.

Ranked LP Gain Changes

As per Riot, they are happy with the LP gains overall, but they needed to fine-tune some of them. Here are the following changes as per the Patch Notes.

  • LP win and loss amount when your visible rank approximately matches your MMR from 22 ⇒ 25.
  • Slightly smoothed LP gain/loss values at MMR and Rank disparity extremes.
    • Clarified the lobby tooltip for ranked duo queue restriction when one player’s MMR is at the Master tier or above.

This means LP win and loss be smoother and will increase slightly based on MMR. Extremes are improving, which means higher ELOs will improve in terms of experience, and the MMR disparities will not feel as bad. Hopefully, this does improve player experience, and everyone can climb ranked and earn all the rewards available.
