Patch 13.4 will be introducing a big Ranked LP Change in League of Legends.
A new patch is coming soon to League of Legends. With a new patch always comes several changes that will be significant for the season going forward. Also, Patch 13.4 will be one of the biggest updates this year. There is a lot to look forward to in the very distant future.
Patch 13.4 will introduce major changes to Support Items, Azir, Thresh, and more. The patch aims to reduce the power of ranged supports, get some buffs and nerfs in to balance the game, and really hit the strongest champions hard. Also, jungle changes are coming, like the jungle pet change, to reduce the effectiveness of ganking junglers.
With that said, many of the future changes are looking very positive for the game’s health. One thing that went amiss was the LP change which Riot Meddler later mentioned on Reddit. Here is what we know about the LP change coming to Ranked this season.

Ranked LP Change
As mentioned a bit earlier, Riot Meddler talked about the LP Change coming to ranked in Patch 13.4. The content below shows his exact words with the change.
In a nutshell, LP gains and losses are being increased. This change is happening for two important reasons. One is so that players can climb up the ranks faster. The other reason is due to the new ranked system, as each season will represent two different ranked splits.
The change will essentially increase the average LPL gain/loss to +22 instead of +15. So, that should be a significant increase to climb up ranks. One thing to note, each tier has it’s own gain and loss numbers. So the LPL gain and loss will increase but for different exact numbers for each tier.
In essence, Riot felt that the same LP gain/loss numbers did not make sense with the new system. Thus, changes are being made where the average LP gain will rise fairly significantly. Hopefully, that will improve the ranked experience for most players.
