Here we’ll rank all the EVA-8 skins that Respawn has released so far in Apex Legends in 2023.
Apex Legends set foot in the battle royale market with lots of new elements in the game. Even though the game launched without any prior announcement, it blew up within a short period of time.
Respawn, the developer of Apex Legends, is also the creator of Titanfall 1 and 2, which are already two of the most popular FPS games on the market. Apex Legends brought a lot of new features, like legends, the Respawn beacon, and fast-paced gameplay, to the battle royale genre.
But it would be a waste not to use the features of Titanfall that have already been worked out well in Apex Legends. So, Respawn took a lot of Tintanfall’s characters, weapons, and ideas and put them into Apex Legends.
Consequently, Respawn killed two birds with one stone; they not only lured the old players from the Titanfall franchise but attracted new players from the battle royale genre as well. Like some of the other features, Apex Legends recycled many of the weapons from the Titanfall games. One of those weapons is the EVA-8 Auto.
EVA-8 Auto, commonly known as EVA-8, is a fully automatic shotgun in Apex Legends. It is one of the 4 shotguns (Peacekeeper, Mastiff, EVA-8, and Mozambique) that are available in the game. It was a popular secondary weapon for many players who were not fond of the Peacekeeper or Mastiff. Even though it has now been nerfed, it is still a weapon of choice for many.

How Many EVA-8 Skins are there in Apex Legends?
In season 15, Respawn has released a total of 74 EVA-8 skins in Apex Legends so far. Among these, 16 legendary, 11 epic, 31 rare, and 16 common skins are available for this shotgun.
Best EVA-8 Skins in Apex Legends (A Complete Tier List)
Now we’ll rank each of the Legendary EVA-8 skins that Respawn has released in Apex Legends thus far, putting them into three categories: S-Tier, A-Tier, and B-Tier.
The S-Tier skins are the cherry-pick EVA-8 Cosmetics that every player would love to own, followed by the A-Tier skins, which are rare and tough contenders to the S-Tier counterparts. However, compared to the S and A-Tier EVA-8 skins, the B-Tier ones feel and look very common. So we will put the B-Tier skins at the bottom of the list.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to creating a tier list for these skins. All of the skins listed here deserve to be included elsewhere. This tier list is completely based on personal taste, and you can switch between these skins based on how you like to play the game.
This list is mostly for new players and experienced players who want to find the best-looking legendary EVA 8 skins in the game.
Tier | Skins |
Best(S-Tier) | Identity Theft, Repeat Offender, Blunder Buss, Prime Time, Noble Truth |
Good(A-Tier) | The Bone Collector, Master Key, Santa’s Little Slayer, Rolling Thunder |
Average(B-Tier) | Kinetic Energy, Guardian of Atlantis, Firestarter, Scaled Steel, The Firebreather |
Top 10 Best EVA-8 skins in Apex Legends
Here, we’ll aim to highlight some of Respawn’s best-looking legendary EVA-8 skins thus far in Season 15. The EVA-8 has many cool-looking skins, so this top-ten list will be a reference for players looking for easy picks. In addition, this list will be ranked from worst to best.
10. Scaled Steel
Scaled Steel is a recolored version of a default Legendary EVA-8 skin named The Firebreather. It is a very exquisite-looking skin with a dragon face behind the iron sight. Unfortunately, it only has one major flaw. When you ADS with this skin, the dragon ears block a lot of your vision, which might create unwanted visibility issues during a fight.
Other alternatives and variants:
- The Firebreather
9. Guardian of Atlantis
The Guardian of Atlantis is a Legendary default skin for EVA-8. The skin shape looks identical to the Scaled Steel. However, the simplistic design with the blue and silver color combination and a touch of gold accent makes the skin superior to its fellow competitors.
Other alternatives and variants:
- Firestarter
8. Kinetic Energy
The Kinetic Energy EVA-8 skin does not look special at first. The skin looks more like a heavy power tool that can hold huge kinetic energy. This skin was featured in the Season 9 Genesis Collection Event. It was a part of the Legacy Maps reward, which players could unlock by collecting 5000 points. Players that love vibrant colors might like this skin.
7. Rolling Thunder
Rolling Thunder looks like skin made with the scraps of a motorcycle, making it look more badass. It is a part of the Battle Pass in Season 12 of Apex Legends, and it could be unlocked at Level 1 of the Premium Battle Pass by purchasing it.
6. Santa’s Little Slayer
Santa’s Little Slayer was released at the Holo Day Bash Event in 2019. The funny-looking skeleton fish with a clown nose and the magazine wrapped up with a nice red ribbon create a joyful vibe for players. The skin seems like a gift from Santa Claus himself.
5. The Bone Collector
The Bone Collector is a very sophisticated skin because of its subtle details throughout the body, making it look like a work of art. The wooden stock, trigger, and handguard add more contrast against the golden highlighting color of the weapon.
Other alternatives and variants:
- Master Key
4. Prime Time
Prime Time is a recolor of the Noble Truth EVA-8 skin. If you like The Joker from Batman, you will surely enjoy this skin because of its green and purple color combination. Besides the color, the skin also looks clean because of its minimalistic design.
Other alternatives and variants:
- Noble Truth
3. Blunder Buss
A precursor to the shotgun, the flintlock blunderbuss was often issued to cavalry or naval troops for use in close-quarter combat. As the definition suggests, the Blunder Buss is inspired by Octane’s pirate-themed Sea Leg skin. The skin was released in Gaiden Thematic Event in Season 13.
2. Repeat Offender
Repeat Offender is the only skin to rival the Identity Theft EVA-8 Shotgun from this list. This skin has arguably the sickest and most minimalistic design. However, by no means it looks less sophisticated than the top-tier skins. The Repeat Offender skin was released in the 2022 Black Friday sale.
1. Identity Theft
Identity Theft is a personally handcrafted EVA-8 skin made by Rampart. Rampart is the master craftsman of weapons, mods, and skins that are functional and look dope. The Identity Theft has a futuristic look to it and is arguably the best fan-favorite skin for EVA-8. The skin was released in the Aftermarket Collection Event in Season 6.
The event and recolor skins may eventually make it to the store, and skins like Identity Theft, Prime Time, and Santa’s Little Slayer may still be available. On the other hand, Battle Pass EVA-8 skins are very rare to acquire.
However, Respawn has announced that battle pass skins from Season 11 and onwards may be available in an event-specific skin package in the future.
Upcoming EVA-8 Skins
As of this writing, there has been no new development regarding any new EVA-8 skins in the game. We’ll definitely highlight more EVA-8 skins as soon as they get announced.
