The season 11 preseason is just around the corner hitting the PBE very soon and the live servers in early November.
In the last couple of seasons, Riot has brought some significant changes to the Summoner’s Rift. Season 8 preseason was all about new runes, where Season 10 preseason was all about Elemental Rift changes. Likewise, for the upcoming season 11 preseason, Riot is planning to bring some major item updates, new item class, and item system overhaul.
In the meantime, Riot has already shared how the Grievous Wounds and Critical Strike are going to work and later also revealed some more information about the new item class called “Mythic Items”. Additionally, Riot is also planning to give the shop interface a completely new look.
And now, League of Legends’ Game Director Andrei “Meddler” van Roon has shared some additional information on when we can expect to see the 2021 preseason go live.

“We’re deliberately taking some risks with some of the new item effects coming this preseason,” Riot Meddler on the preseason. “We’re allowing some items to contribute in ways we didn’t previously allow the item system to do.”
Season 11 Preseason release date for PBE
According to Riot Meddler, the season 11 preseason is going to hit the PBE next week. Patch 10.20 is also expected to hit the live servers next week on September 30, therefore, we can expect to see the Preseason patch going into the PBE on patch 10.21 PBE cycle.

The typical PBE cycles for a patch last for around two weeks, but for the Preseason patch Riot will be testing the new changes for six weeks.
“We’ll be on PBE for six weeks, rather than the four we normally do for preseasons,” Riot on the preseason. “That means we’ll have lots of time to get everything done.”
Season 11 Preseason release date for the live server
The season 11 preseason is going to be tested for six weeks starting from the patch 10.21 PBE cycle. In the last couple of seasons, Riot Games has released the Preseason patch on the 23rd patch, meaning we can also expect to see the Season 11 Preseason hitting the live servers on patch 10.23. And the patch 10.23 release date is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2020.
