Starfield has been one of the most anticipated games of the year. Being the newest Bethesda RPG, people had high hopes for the game. This time around, the players will be going from planet to planet and exploring as many galaxies as they want. The developers have claimed the game has over a thousand planets you can find and explore.
Like the previous Bethesda games, Starfield also gives players a lot of freedom. Some of which have always been used questionably by the players. One of these kinds of decisions is to kill the NPCs in a city. There are consequences for killing NPCs in the game. However, not all the NPCs can be killed in Starfield. Here we will discuss which NPCs can be put down and what happens when you kill NPCs in the game.
Consequences for Killing NPC
Starfield gives the players a lot of freedom to do anything they want. Among them is the option to carry guns anywhere the players want. That means it is possible to kill NPCs in a city, too. However, not all the NPCs are killable. The players cannot harm or even kill NPCs that are necessary for the main story quests. In the worst case, they will duck down for a couple of minutes and then get back up as if nothing happened.
But other than that, killing innocent NPCs will trigger the authority to intervene. While they don’t intervene directly from the start, it will put a bounty on your character’s head. As you kill more NPCs, the bounty will rise, and thus, more and more authority figures as well as bounty hunters will start to approach you.
The hunt for your character will not be limited to the ground either. Having a high enough bounty will make the authorities go after you even in space. But, you can lose them by traveling to another part of the galaxy that is not controlled by the authority that has put the bounty on your character.
