Subnautica 2 is finally in Early Access, and naturally, players are already looking for the full achievement list before diving too deep into its new alien ocean. The original Subnautica had a clean set of progression-based achievements tied to story moments, crafting, exploration, vehicles, and survival milestones, so it makes sense that fans expect something similar from the sequel.

However, there is one important thing to know right now. The full Subnautica 2 achievement list is not publicly available through the main storefront pages yet. Steamโ€™s live page currently lists the game as an Early Access release, but it does not show a public achievements section at the time of checking.

Does Subnautica 2 Have Achievements?

Right now, the safest answer is that Subnautica 2โ€™s full achievement list has not been publicly confirmed yet.

Subnautica 2 launched into Early Access on May 14, 2026, for PC and Xbox Series X|S, with the Xbox version releasing through Game Preview. The game is also available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, while Steam lists it as an Early Access title with planned updates over the next few years.

Because this is an Early Access release, some features may arrive later or change over time. Unknown Worlds says the full version is planned to be more polished and feature-rich, with more biomes, creatures, craftables, features, and narrative content planned during development. That means the achievement list could appear later, change during Early Access, or be expanded before the full release.

Subnautica 2 Achievement List Status

At the time of writing, there is no verified public achievement table for Subnautica 2. That means there is no confirmed total achievement count, no confirmed Gamerscore value, and no confirmed hidden achievement list.

PlatformAchievement Status
SteamNo public achievement section is visible on the main store page at the time of checking
Xbox and Game PassNot publicly verified through a live achievement list yet
Epic Games StoreNo confirmed public achievement list available yet
PlayStationNo PS5 version is available during Early Access, so trophies are not available yet

What Achievements Could Subnautica 2 Add Later?

While the final list is not confirmed, we can make some reasonable guesses based on the structure of the first Subnautica and Below Zero. These should not be treated as confirmed achievements, but they are the areas players should watch once the official list appears.

Subnautica 2 will likely reward major survival and progression milestones. The first game used achievements to mark key steps like building important tools, discovering major locations, constructing vehicles, progressing through the story, and reaching major endgame moments. Since Subnautica 2 is once again an underwater survival adventure on a new alien planet, a similar structure would make sense.

Exploration achievements also feel likely. Subnautica has always been built around the thrill of entering strange biomes, scanning unknown lifeforms, and pushing deeper into dangerous waters. If Subnautica 2 eventually adds achievements, players should expect some to be tied to new biomes, creature discovery, base building, and important equipment upgrades.

Co-op Could Change How Achievements Work

One major difference this time is co-op. Subnautica 2 supports online co-op, which is a big change for the series. Steam lists the game with single-player, online co-op, and cross-platform multiplayer support, which means achievements could eventually include co-op-specific objectives.

Even without a confirmed achievement list, Subnautica 2 is off to a huge start. Unknown Worlds announced that the game sold two million copies in its first 12 hours, while also reaching a peak of 651,000 concurrent players across Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox. The game had more than 18,000 positive Steam reviews shortly after launch, with a 92 percent Very Positive rating at the time of that report.

Should You Wait Before Chasing 100 Percent Completion?

Yes, at least for now.

Since the achievement list is not publicly confirmed, there is no reliable way to plan a full 100 percent completion route yet. Players who care about achievements should focus on enjoying the Early Access build, learning the new systems, scanning everything they find, building steadily, and keeping backup saves before major story moments.
