Patch 10.21 is heavily focusing on changing the jungle meta by nerfing overpowered champions like Hecarim, Graves, and Nidalee.
Riot Games brought some significant changes to both the jungle XP and champions in season 10. This resulted in farming and scaling champions like Graves, Hecarim, and others to be back into the meta. Although Riot later nerfed most of the champions, they are still strong as ever in the current patch.
And now, League of Legends’ lead gameplay designer Mark “Scruffy” Yetter has previewed the patch 10.21 today. And it seems like they are bringing in some big jungle changes in the upcoming patch 10.21 once again.
Patch 10.21 Jungle Nerf
Hecarim
- E:
- Base damage: 45-165 >>> 35-155
- Base damage max: 90-330 >>> 70-310
Hecarim is a type of champion who gets back in the meta after getting some buffs however after getting some nerfs he is completely forgotten and no one picks him again. In season 10, his state was quite similar.
At the start of season 10, his pick rate was around 2%, therefore, Riot buffed him in patch 10.6, 10.11, and later on 10.16. This resulted in him being one of the most popular and dominant jungler in the current meta. Although Riot did nerf him patch 10.17, he still has a massive 52.51% win rate in patch 10.20 with a whopping 14.4% pick rate. His presence in the pro plays in also very strong as well. Therefore, Riot is nerfing him in patch 10.21.
Graves
- E: Armor per stack: 8-20 >>> 6-18
Graves is in a pretty similar state as Hecarim where he is also one of the most dominant junglers in the current meta. The new jungle changes heavily favors him and one top of that he even received some noticeable buffs in patch 10.5.
However even with the nerf in patch 10.11 Graves still has a strong presence in the current meta. And seeing the Worlds meta it seems like he is a must pick or ban champions as well. Hence, Graves will taste nerfs in patch 10.21.
Nidalee
- AD: 61 >>> 58
The meta also favors Nidalee as well. And with that recent buff on patch 10.10, she is one of the most imperative jungler in the League of Legends Worlds 2020. With the new Athene’s build, she has an astonishing 95.8% presence in Worlds.
Although her win rate in the soloq is just 47.93%, she is getting some nerfs on patch 10.21 because of being overpowered in the pro games.
Patch 10.21 Jungle Buff
Lee Sin
- AD per level: 3.2 >>> 3.7
Even though Lee Sin has the most pick rate among jungle champion in the current patch, he only has a 46.55% win rate in the soloq. Even in the Worlds, he was just picked in four games where he has a 0% win rate. Therefore, Riot is planning to give Lee Sin some strength to come back in patch 10.21.
Trundle
- Passive: Healing: 2/3/4/5/6% at lvl 1/5/9/12/15 >>> 2-7% smooth scaling by level
- W: Cooldown: 15 >>> 15-11
Trundle on the other hand was having a dominant run a couple of patches ago in the pro game. This resulted in him getting nerfs in three separate patches in season 10. Moreover, currently on patch 10.20 he only has a 0.8% pick rate which is one of the lowest in the game. Thus, Riot is buffing him in patch 10.21.
Udyr
- R: Pulse total damage: 40-240 >>> 50-300
When the whole community is asking for a complete VGU for Udyr, Riot is buffing him once again in patch 10.21 instead.
All the new changes of patch 10.21 are scheduled to go live on Wednesday, Oct 14, 2020.
