Riot Games confirms that Kog’Maw is getting a VFX update in League of Legends.

Since last season, Riot has constantly been giving Visual Effects (VFX) updates to the champions whose spell effects are outdated and need some love. In Season 11, Riot has already released some great VFX updates for Hecarim and Rammus. Moreover, the most recent’s ARAM VFX also looked quite refreshing as well.

Now, League of Legends Visual Effects lead artist for skins, Riot Beardilocks, has confirmed that Kog’Maw is finally getting some VFX love, which will be available for testing in the PBE.

According to Riot Beardilocks, Kog’Maw’s new VFX will include an Updated Model Texture and an Updated Armor/MR shred icon.

“Improving gameplay clarity on missile widths, R edge indicator and W/P empowered state,” Riot Beardilocks on this VFX update.

Kog’Maw VFX Update

Kog’Maw is one of League of Legends’ oldest champions, and a lot of his skins are either 520RP or 975RP and have little to no visual effects at all. However, with this new VFX update, Riot has brought some changes to those skins’ W so that they can all now feel much more “empowered.”

Kog’Maw VFX will be available for testing in the PBE soon. Riot Beardilocks confirmed that the VFX will be on the PBE for an extended period – at least 2 PBE cycles. This means Kog’Maw VFX might be released on the Summoner’s Rift on Patch 11.9, Wednesday, April 28, 2021.
