Infinity Ward has finally opened up about the outrageous number of hackers in Warzone by stating “more banwaves are coming”.
It’s nothing new to encounter cheaters in FPS titles. Some popular FPS titles like Apex Legends, CS:GO, VALORANT, and even Ubisoft’s newest title Hyper Scape has some great history with hackers.
But, in Warzone, the cheating issue has gone into a whole new level. Players first found hackers in Call of Duty: Warzone just after a few days of its release which accelerated rapidly later on. Infinity Ward, however, implemented some great strategies to combat cheaters. First, they put all the cheaters into the same lobby to let them settle their score against each other, and later they introduced a 2FA for PC players.
These new anti-cheats were working great for a short period of time but cheaters soon figured out how to bypass the Two-Step Authentication. And it turns out that there are many groups and websites that are selling cheats for a very small amount of cash. Which resulted in season 4 to be the worst season yet in terms of cheater problem.

Even there are many google ads that these cheaters are publicly using to boost up their sales on some specific keywords.
Streamers and Players reaction towards hackers
Many streamers/influencers have spoken up about the immense number of cheaters in Warzone.
Jack “CouRage” Dunlop tweeted out saying that he has encountered more cheaters in just six-hour of Warzone than he encountered in three years of Fortnite. Nickmercs also tweeted out saying that, “Hackers actually might ruin Warzone.”
Timthetatman and other streamers have publicly addressed the cheater problem as well. Taking about streamers, recently hacking has become so obvious that there are many streamers who are currently cheating live in front of their viewers. A streamer named Twistedbear recently got banned for streaming live with wallhacks on.
On Reddit, players are also furious about the hackers in Warzone. A lot of players are calling out season 4 as a disaster and the worst season ever while others are saying that the game will be dead very soon if Infinity Ward doesn’t do anything about hackers. Some players are also suggesting to disable forced crossplay until they fix their anti-cheat.
Infinity Ward finally breaks silence
When everyone was starting to deem that Infinity Ward will simply do nothing about hackers, today, they finally tweeted out addressing the cheater issue in Warzone.
“Cheating will not be tolerated. More banwaves are coming,” Infinity Ward said. They are suggesting to avoid any kind of 3rd party software to mod or hack, and they are also asking players to avoid tutorials and services that offer ways to modify the game.

And apparently it seems like, Infinity Ward has already started the ban waves as many players on Reddit are reporting that they are getting notifications regarding cheaters ban that they have reported. It might be a little too late, but it’s still great to see that cheaters are finally getting bans.
