Call of Duty 2020’s internal alpha called ‘The Red Door’ has appeared on the Xbox Store, and some users were also able to add the alpha file on their Xbox One consoles.
Here’s what the description for ‘The Red Door’ reads:
There is more than one truth. If you go looking for answers, be ready to question everything and accept that nothing will ever be the same. The Red Door awaits, do you dare step through it?
However, as it is limited to internal developers only, you will need a code to download and play this title. Some users, who managed to add this title to their consoles, found that the file appears with a code-name of ‘Call of Duty®: Black Ops CIA.’
Call of Duty®: Black Ops CIA most likely indicates ‘Closed Internal Alpha’ build, and it should just be a code-name for the Xbox platform. The final title is reportedly set to be called ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘ as the earlier leak suggested.
The users were also able to load the game until the ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ logo when they were asked for a code in order to continue. This same screen also appeared on the PlayStation Store’s COD2020 internal alpha build, which was leaked earlier in June, validating it’s indeed for the 2020 title.
According to the Xbox Store listing, the game size is 81 GB, and this build exists for the developers and internal testers to try out the game amidst this pandemic. Otherwise, the production of this game would slow down leading to a delayed release date.
The COD 2020 game is supposed to be set during the Cold War era and will reportedly feature zombies. Check out more details about it here.
