DioField Chronicle tells a complex war story, blending medieval fantasy and modern elements into a beautifully crafted war strategy game that incorporates real-time tactical battles.

The story is set in the Kingdom of Alletain, which is currently under attack by the Trovelt-Schoevian Empire. You are part of an elite mercenary group going by the name of Blue Fox, and you play a pivotal role in the outcome of this war.

Unlike most tactical-strategy war games, there’s much more for you to do than just engage in battles that progress the story. You can capture land, escort allies, defend strongholds, and do side quests. And speaking of side quests, DioField Chronicle has an abundance of them.

The side quests in DioField Chronicle are divided into three broad categories: Badge Rank quests, Combat quests, and Character quests. Each of the side quests you get will help strengthen your battle unit in one way or the other. This guide will provide a detailed list of every side quest in DioField Chronicle, along with their required stage, unlock condition, and completion rewards.

All Side Quests in DioField Chronicle

There are a total of 37 side quests in DioField Chronicle, and they are grouped under several categories.

Badge Rank Quests

All Badge Rank quests in DioField Chronicle raise the ranks of your Blue Fox badges. Raising your mercenary unit rank will yield several benefits and perks that are related to each badge. There are a total of five Blue Fox badges for you to rank up.

They are Skill tree, Meal rank, Shop rank, Weapon Development, and Magilumic Orb Research. There are several side quests tied to each of these five badges. We have listed all of them below:

Skill Tree Rank Side Quests

Ranking up your Skill Tree in DioField Chronicle will boost your unit’s skills, stats, and attributes which will help you greatly during battles and missions. You can level up your Skill Tree badge all the way to Rank 5 by completing five Skill Tree sub-quests.

Meal Rank Side Quests

Having meals in DioField Chronicle boost your unit’s stats and attributes, making you stronger in battle and helping you level up faster. You can level up your Meal Rank badge all the way to Rank 5 by completing five Meal Rank sub-quests.

Shop Rank Side Quests

You can purchase many useful items, weapons, and resources from the Shop in DioField Chronicle. Leveling up your Shop Rank badge unlocks more items, accessories, and weapons to purchase from the shop. You can level up your Shop Rank badge all the way to Rank 5 by completing five Shop Rank sub-quests.

Weapon Development Rank Side Quests

Weapon Development in DioField Chronicle allows you to create more potent weapons for your battle units by spending materials. Stronger weapons will become available for unlocking in the development tree by ranking up your Weapon Development badge. You can level up your Weapon Development badge all the way to Rank 5 by completing five Weapon Development sub-quests.

Magilumic Orb Research Rank Side Quests

Magilumic Orbs in DioField Chronicle are powerful summons that allows you and your unit members to deal damage across a large area of effect. Moreover, they can also restore your party’s HP and EP. You can unlock new engravings to increase the power of your Magilumic Orbs by conducting research at the Institute and increasing your Magilumic Orb Research Rank.

You can level up your Magilumic Orb Research badge rank all the way to Rank 5 by completing four Magilumic Orb Research sub-quests. Rank 1 is automatically unlocked as part of the Chain of Captivity main story quest in Chapter 1.

Combat Side Quests

Since DioField Chronicle is a tactical war strategy game, it’s expected to see side quests that involve going into battles. These combat side quests require you to engage in battles that appear across the World Map as you progress through a chapter. Once you’ve finished a chapter, you can earn EXP, Gold, and Materials by completing these quests from the Practice Battle menu.

Character Recruitment Side Quests

Although DioField Chronicle has an impressive lineup of sixteen playable characters, not all of them can be unlocked through the main story progression. The game offers three secret playable characters that can only be unlocked by doing their relevant sidequests.
