Here’s a list of all the main characters and support characters in DioField Chronicle that you can recruit.
Square Enix has brought us a brand new tactical strategy RPG in collaboration with Lancarse titled DioField Chronicle. The game offers a Real-Time Tactical Battle System where players can take control of a team of characters to vanquish evil in tactical combat.
Moreover, you will also have RPG elements like completing missions, defending strongholds, escorting allies, and capturing land. However, unlike most tactical RPGs, DioField Chronicle does not have a tile-based movement system, allowing players to move freely in all directions.
The game’s events are set in the fictional Kingdom of Alletain, with you being part of a mercenary group called the Blue Foxes. As a long-brewing war between the continents of the Trovelt-Schoevian Empire and the Rowetale Alliance led to the demise of the Alliance, the Kingdom of Alletain became the next target of the Empire.

There will be many characters that you meet throughout your adventures. Each belongs to a different character class and has a unique personality. Some of these characters will join your cause as part of the story’s natural progression.
Recruiting other characters, however, might need some work on your end. This guide will list all the main characters and support characters in DioField Chronicle and what you must do to recruit each.
All Recruitable Characters in DioField Chronicle
There are a total of sixteen playable characters and four support characters in DioField Chronicle. Thirteen of the playable characters in this story will be unlocked as part of the main story, with three of them being your starting characters. The other three characters can only be unlocked by completing their relevant side quests.
Starter Characters in DioField Chronicle
You start off your adventure in DioField Chronicles with the following three characters:
Andrias Rhondarson
- Class: Soldier
- Voice Actor: Nobuhiko Okamoto (JP) / Toby Regbo (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Rescue Mission main quest in Chapter 1.
Andrias is one of the four leaders of the mercenary group named Blue Foxes. After being scouted by a nobleman, Andrias was trained to be a soldier and later became the bodyguard and chamberlain of Prince Levantia Shaytham, the fourth in line to succeed the royal throne. He is a reliable leader who is loved for his calm and cool demeanor.
Fredret Lester
- Class: Cavalier
- Voice Actor: Junichi Suwabe (JP)/ Jonno Davies (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Rescue Mission main quest in Chapter 1.
Fredret is the second-in-command of the Blue Foxes and the closest confidant and sworn brother to Andrias. Moreover, he is also the eldest son of House Lester, a mid-ranked noble family. He is direct, honest, and charming, and despite his strong aura, he has a really kind heart. In addition, Fredret is a proficient horserider who easily gallops through the battlefield and swoops down enemies.
Izelair Wigan
- Class: Soldier
- Voice Actor: Kaori Maeda (JP) / Sabrina Bartlett (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Rescue Mission main quest in Chapter 1.
Izelair is a member of the Blue Fox mercenary group and the daughter of the legendary mercenary Zoruaq Wigan. She has inherited her father’s dexterity and fighting prowess, and likes to challenge people in combat. However, her kind-hearted nature forbids her to resort to bloodshed, so she tries to avoid it whenever possible.
Chapter 1 Recruitable Characters in DioField Chronicle
You can recruit two main characters in Chapter 1 of DioField Chronicle.
Iscarion Colchester
- Class: Sharpshooter
- Voice Actor: Jun Fukuyama (JP) / Jacob Collins-Levy (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the End of the Bandit Menace main quest in Chapter 1.
Iscarion is the third leader of the Blue Foxes and a knight-errant with a dark past. Iscarion comes from a minor noble family and is respected by his subordinates for always helping those in need. Apart from having the fighting skills ingrained in him as a knight, he is also a prodigious archer and has relied on his archery skills since he got into the mercenary business.
Waltaquin Redditch
- Class: Magicker
- Voice Actor: Inori Minase (JP) / Sorcha Groundsell (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Redditch Estate Recon main quest in Chapter 1.
Waltaquin is the fourth leader of the Blue Foxes and a noblewoman of House Redditch, Suffield’s most prominent noble house. She is a gifted magic user and has great knowledge of Ancient Sorcery, making her the strongest magicker in the kingdom. However, although she is famous for her grace and beauty, she can also be quite selfish and arrogant due to being spoiled her whole life.
Chapter 2 Recruitable Characters in DioField Chronicle
You can recruit 3 characters in Chapter 2 of DioField Chronicle. Two are unlocked as part of the main storyline, and one is unlocked through a side quest.
Rickenback Madea
- Class: Sharpshooter
- Voice Actor: Wakana Maruoka (JP) / Emma Ballantine (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Harbinger of Discord main quest in Chapter 2.
Madea is a proficient archer who spent her life hunting on the frontier. She is a deadly sharpshooter who can support her team in tough battles and efficiently use items and resources. Players can unlock her at the start of the second chapter.
Shivat Malzin
- Class: Magicker
- Voice Actor: Makoto Furukawa (JP) / Ronan Summers (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the End of the Aardwolves main quest in Chapter 2.
Shivat used to be a bandit leader and servant of House Redditch. He is a powerful mage skilled in casting offensive and restorative spells using his wand. Because of this, he can simultaneously play the role of core player and healer, making him a valuable addition to your party. You can recruit him in chapter 2 as part of the main storyline.
Donovar Sullion
- Class: Soldier
- Voice Actor: Kazumasa Nakamura (JP) / Alec Newman (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the A Shield for the People sub-quest in Chapter 2.
Donovar is a former knight working of the Royal Guard with excellent fighting prowess and the ability to drain HP from enemies. He can really back up the party when things take a turn for the worst, making him an excellent addition to the team, apart from all the main characters in the game. He is an optional party member that can be recruited during the second chapter by completing his side quest.
Chapter 3 Recruitable Characters in DioField Chronicle
You can recruit three main characters in Chapter 3 of DioField Chronicle.
Estalt Yewfare
- Class: Magicker
- Voice Actor: Miyuki Satou (JP) / Luna Zanette (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Escort the Priests main quest in Chapter 3.
Estalt is a talented mage who learned magic at a young age despite all the difficulties he faced due to being an orphan. He left the Granbell Holy Church orphanage to pursue his dream of becoming a mercenary. His magic skills allow him to become more powerful when certain conditions are met. You can recruit him as part of the main storyline in chapter 3.
Castevere Bunnow
- Class: Cavalier
- Voice Actor: Junta Terashima (JP) / Wilf Scolding (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Defend Duke Hende main quest in Chapter 3.
Catevere is a highly skilled Assassin-turned-Cavalier from the Republic of Vherma. He used to run an assassination business for several years using a Ganglit until he took up the lance to become a cavalryman following an incident. Being the jovial womanizer he is, his strength shows no bounds when accompanied by female party members. Castevere can be recruited during the main storyline in Chapter 3.
Umarida Bareas
- Class: Sharpshooter
- Voice Actor: Sumire Uesaka (JP) / Emma Sidi (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing The Blue Foxes Laugh main quest in Chapter 3.
Umarida is a sniper who Andrias personally scouted to join the Blue Fox Mercenaries. She uses the Ganglit, a modern imperial magic weapon she had received as a gift from her former employer. Her skills, combined with her choice of weapon, allow her to fire shots with certain accuracy. She can be recruited as part of the main storyline in Chapter 3.
Chapter 4 Recruitable Characters in DioField Chronicle
You can recruit 3 characters in Chapter 4 of DioField Chronicle. Two are unlocked as part of the main storyline, and one is unlocked through a side quest.
Tremina Umbert
- Class: Sharpshooter
- Voice Actor: Miyuu Tsuji (JP) / Holli Dempsey (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Quell the Riots Again main quest in Chapter 4.
Tremina is a firearms specialist and political activist born in a merchant family in Southfield. Despite her lavish upbringing, Tremina holds strong democratic ideals and ambitions that go against her family’s. She is an extremely talented sharpshooter who joins the Blue Foxes during the events of the main storyline.
Catherine
- Class: Soldier
- Voice Actor: Lynn (JP) / Anna Burnett (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Rescuing Catherine main quest in Chapter 4.
Catherine is a Templar Knight and a follower of the holy church. Apart from being a skilled swordswoman, she is also a strong sorcerer who can cast restorative spells. She is a force to be reckoned with and makes a great addition to your team once you recruit her as part of the main storyline.
Zoruaq Wigan
- Class: Cavelier
- Voice Actor: Kenji Hamada (JP) / Henry Garrett (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the A Warrior Gets His Wings sub quest in Chapter 4.
Zoruaq is a seasoned mercenary with multiple military accomplishments under his belt. He helped mediate multiple civil wars and has had significant contributions working for the Royal Government of King Ortina. Moreover, he is also the father of Izelair Wigan. Zoruaq is an optional party member that can be recruited during the game’s fourth chapter by completing his side quest.
Chapter 6 Recruitable Characters in DioField Chronicle
You can recruit 2 main characters in Chapter 6 of DioField Chronicle.
Hezeliah Shaytham
- Class: Magicker
- Voice Actor: Misuzu Yamada (JP) / Fern Deacon (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing An Army Approaches main quest in Chapter 6.
Hezeliah is the daughter of King Regalt and the third queen Stella, making her the sister of Prince Levantia Shaytham and the princess of Alletain. She had been kidnapped by the second prince Victor and his friend Lord Kimble and imprisoned in the Beasel Tower when the royal family tried to flee from the war. Hezeliah can be recruited as part of the main storyline in Chapter 6.
Chappleman
- Class: Cavalier
- Voice Actor: Kanehira Yamamoto (JP) / Abubakar Salim (EN)
- How to Recruit: Unlocked after completing the Give to Those Who Reach Out sub-quest in Chapter 6.
Chappleman is a proficient Wyvern-rider with powers that weaken enemies before the finishing blow. He is an optional party member that can be recruited during the game’s sixth chapter by completing his side quest.
All Support Characters in DioField Chronicle
These four support characters in DioField Chronicle play a significant role in shaping your story.
Lorraine Luckshaw
- Affiliation: Blue Fox, House Luckshaw
- Voice Actor: Miku Ito (JP) / Ellie Heydon (EN)
Lorraine is a Blue Fox Administrator and Intermediary who liaises between the mercenary group and the government. She ran away from her home when her father forced her to marry at the age of 16. She later joined the Academy, funded by Duke Hende.
William Hende
- Affiliation: House Hende
- Voice Actor: Kenjiro Tsuda (JP) / Mark Rowley (EN)
William is the patriarch of House Hende who used his knowledge from his time studying abroad to help raise his family’s rank to a Noble family. He became one of the wealthiest people in the Kingdom by trading jade with neighboring nations and expanding his business territory. Apart from being elected as a councilor on the Lord’s Council, William also established his own military comprised of the order of knights.
Zevatian Schugel
- Affiliation: Trovelt-Schoevian Empire
- Voice Actor: Ryohei Kimura (JP) / Zevatian Schugel (EN)
Zevatian is the commander of the imperial army trying to invade the Kingdom of Alletain. Born in a rural village in northern Rowetale Mainland, Zevatian joined the military very young. After seeing his success in numerous wars, the Shaytham Dynasty Emperor promoted Zevatian as one of the four generals.
Yulzim Yorden
- Affiliation: House Yorden
- Voice Actor: Kouichi Souma (JP) / Harry LLoyd (EN)
Yulzim is the commander of the Blue Fox mercenary company. He is the head of House Yorden, a mid-ranked noble family, and a former knight. Moreover, he is also the commander of Duke Hende’s military unit and is in charge of recruiting the best soldiers across the Alletain Kingdom.
