Riot Games strikes again, Akali to receive yet another major change in League of Legends patch 11.6.
Ever since her rework back in patch 8.15, Akali received multiple nerfs, buffs, and adjustments in League of Legends. She is a type of champion who can terrorize the Summoner’s Rift no matter how many times Riot decides to nerf her. Every time Riot nerfs some part of her kit, players figure out how to overcome that, and Akali later becomes a nightmare for both the solo queue and pro games.
Last season, at one point, she was so “overpowered” that Riot had to nerf most of her ability to the ground, causing her to become the lowest win-rate champion. Riot, however, did buff her three times later on because of her poor state, which eventually made her meta champion once again.
With the introduction of the new Mythic and revamped items in the 2021 preseason, Akali’s presence has increased quite significantly once again. She was nerfed in the first patch of the preseason and later hotfixed in patch 10.25. Furthermore, Akali has already received two nerfs in season 11 despite having one of the lowest win rates in League of Legends.
However, it seems, Riot is not stopping there. As Akali currently has a 44.88% win rate in patch 11.5 and just a 19.4% presence in the pro game, Riot is planning to nerf her base hp while buffing her maxed Q energy cost, E2, and maxed R damage. Moreover, her R1 damage is now shifted to Magic from Physical. And according to League of Legends Gameplay Design Director Mark “Scruffy” Yetter, this new change is an overall buff for Akali.
