Riot Games has officially confirmed Ahri mini-rework for League of Legends season 12.
Riot Games has brought some great mini-reworks in season 11 for the champions, who were pretty underwhelming in the meta. Rammus, Xin Zhao, Irelia, and some other mini-reworks have landed very well, and most of their presence in soloq increased quite a bit.
League of Legends season 12 is here, and Riot has already shared plans for the upcoming mini-reworks. In 2022, Teleport is getting meta-defining changes while Janna receives a major update to her kit.
To make the early season 12 even more interesting, League of Legends Lead gameplay designer Riot Axes has confirmed that Ahri is also getting a mini-rework.
Based on stats, Ahri’s pick rate (4.1%) and win rate (50.8%) are pretty average. However, League’s one of the most popular female characters is out of the meta for quite some time now. Moreover, she has not received a big balance update since patch 10.18 changes.
Even Riot believes players who previously resonated with Ahri aren’t enjoying her as much anymore. And the goal of this mini-rework is to make her “fun and well-supported.”
“We do expect that if we succeed with this work, she’ll be more popular,” Riot Axes said.
Now, League of Legends Principal Character Designer, Riot August, has officially shared the Ahri mini-rework details.
