League of Legends patch 10.22 is going to feature nerfs to Karthus, Lulu Top, and Zed.

League of Legends’ lead gameplay designer Mark “Scruffy” Yetter has previewed the last patch before the preseason today. And it seems like they are nerfing Karthus once again along with Lulu Top and Zed. Moreover, for the third time in two patches, League of Legends’ new ADC Samira is also scheduled to receive nerfs on patch 10.22 as well.

Zed Nerf Patch 10.22

  • E:
    • Damage: 70-170 >>> 70-150

With the recent buff on patch 10.14 where Riot changed his W, Zed has been one of the most dominant mid laners in League of Legends. Currently, he has a massive 52.01% win rate in the Plat+ Elo while having a 13.0% pick rate.

Because of the nature of his kit, he always tends to have a high ban rate in low Elos. However, now he also has a 36.4% ban rate worldwide in Plat+ Elo while having more than a 40% ban rate in Korea.

Regarding the nerf in patch 10.22 Riot Scruffy said “Strongest mid in skilled bracket, small nerfs to bring him in line.”

Karthus Nerf Patch 10.22

  • Q:
    • Damage: 50-130 >>> 45-125

Karthus recently received some major buffs on patch 10.14 as Riot wanted to shift him from jungle to mid. However, after getting that buff he was the highest win rate champion in four different roles. Although Riot did reduce his AP ratio on patch 10.16, it seems like he is back into the nerf list once again.

Currently, he still has a massive 54.49% win rate while having a 7.2% pick rate in Diamond 2+ Elo in the jungle. Furthermore, he also has a 54.73% win rate in mid lane as well. “Too strong in both Jungle and Mid in Elite play,” Riot Scruffy on Karthus nerf in patch 10.22.

Lulu Nerf Patch 10.22

  • Q:
    • Damage: 80-260 >>> 80-220

Even though Lulu is primarily played in the support role, recently a lot of players have been playing her in the Top lane and having great success. Both in Plat+ and Diamond+ Elo, she has a remarkable 52% win rate in the Top lane.

Although her pick rate in the Top lane is around 3.0%, she is still having some great impact in the solo lane. Even Riot Scruffy said that Lulu “top is too strong in skilled.”

Even though she recently received a nerf on patch 10.20, Riot is yet again planning to nerf her on patch 10.22 as well.

All the new changes will hit PBE soon for testing and scheduled to go live on patch 10.22, Wednesday, Oct 28, 2020.
