Riot has revealed some massive Xerath changes for patch 13.13.
Recently, we have seen some massive changes to League of Legends. Firstly in patch 13.10, Riot released the mid-season 2023 update. In this patch, they have changed almost every item in the game. Notably, Riot reworked many mythic items into the legendary tier while promoting some legendary items into the mythic tier.
Then in patch 13.11, they mostly polished up the game to be properly balanced. Additionally, they also released the Rell mini-rework in this update. Riot quickly hotfix buffed her since Rell’s win rate was abysmal after her mini-rework. Moreover, in this patch, Riot added buff sharing to the game.
Compared to these two patches, we received even more significant champion adjustments in patch 13.12. For that patch, Rumble and Lucian received some well-deserved adjustments.
And now, similarly, in patch 13.13, Zyra and Xerath will receive some massive gameplay adjustments. For the current topic, here is the list of Xerath changes.

Xerath Changes Patch 13.13
- Base mana reduced from 459 to 400
- P cooldown is now reduced by 2 seconds per kill
- R missiles increased from 3 – 5 to 3 – 7
- R base damage reduced from 200 – 300 to 200 – 280
- R AP ratio reduced from 45% to 40%
- R is now increased by 20 – 30 + 5% AP per champ hit
Here is a breakdown of the Xerath changes. First of all, his base mana pool is getting significantly reduced. While it does look like a massive nerf for all roles, it is nothing more than a slight adjustment, as his passive is also receiving a nice buff. Now after each kill, his passive is reduced by 2 seconds. So he will still have a good amount of mana regeneration if he gets the kill.
And now for the massive buff, Xerath’s late-game ultimate missile is increasing from 5 to 7. Moreover, the damage of the missile increases per champion hit. However, his base ultimate damage and AP ratio are being reduced.
Overall, these changes will heavily increase the strength of late-game mid-lane Xerath. Additionally, the mana pool nerf might negatively impact him in the support role. But for now, we have to wait and see.
Release Date
The Xerath changes are expected to hit live servers on patch 13.13, scheduled to release on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
