One of the strongest ADC, Lucian, will receive massive changes in League of Legends patch 13.12.
In every mid-season patch, Riot makes massive changes to League of Legends, and this time was no exception.
For this year’s mid-season or patch 13.10, Riot released the item-rework. With this change, almost every item received some change. For example, all the fighter items received a buff to increase their viability. For assassins, Riot moved Prowler’s Claw to legendary and removed its dash. However, at the same time, they promoted Youmuu’s Ghostblade into a mythic while giving it a lot of stat buffs as well.
Most importantly, in this update, the ADC items received the most amount of changes. Besides Galeforce, all the mythic got turned into legendary. Additionally, all the crit modifier items, like Infinity Edge, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, and Navori Quickblade, were promoted to mythic.
Even though this change made some champions very weak, it also strengthened other champions. One of the champions who skyrocketed in terms of win rate is Lucian.
Before this update, he had only a 49.31% win rate. Moreover, he was considered one of the five worse ADC in the meta. However, with the recent changes to the item, he has moved up to the ranks. In the current patch, he has a 51% win rate with a very high pick rate of 18%.
As the upcoming major patch is on the horizon, one of the champions receiving some adjustments is Lucian.
Lucian Changes Patch 13.12
- Base magic damage: 14 >>> 10
- Magic AD ratio: 20% >>> 15%
- Magic damage is readied when an enemy champ within 1000 units is CC’d
While not significant, these changes are overall a nerf to Lucian. Riot will be nerfing his magic damage output. But these changes won’t affect him in bot lane. However, it will certainly make mid Lucian weaker. Also, with these nerfs, he won’t be able to abuse Stormrazor as he can in the current patch.
The Lucian adjustments will hit live servers on patch 13.12, scheduled to release on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.
