Vampire Survivors: 5 Best Builds

Vampire Survivors has a lot of weapons and passive abilities for you to choose from. Here are some of the best builds you can have in the game.

Vampire Survivors is a mix of genres between a wave-based enemy shooter and the bullet hell. Here you are a survivor defending against hordes of different kinds of enemies. You initially start with one weapon, and as you level up, you gain more.

All the weapons are on a cooldown and fire automatically after their cooldown period. So it reverses the bullet hell genre and makes the playable character the main bullet shooter of the game. It is a fun and unique twist that introduces a layer of strategy to the game.

With the game having a lot of weapons and passive abilities to choose from, certain abilities and passives synergy with each other more than others. So, here are the five best builds you can have in vampire survivors.

Best Builds in Vampire Survivors

Many of the game’s best builds don’t need to fill all the weapon or passive slots. Some of the builds will have open slots you can use any weapon and passive on. Here we will focus on the core weapons and passives you must focus on to make the build work.

5. Pentagram Build

WeaponPassive ItemEvolution
Pentagram Crown Gorgeous Moon
Magic WandEmpty TomeHoly Wand
GarlicPummarola Soul Eater
RunetracerArmorNO FUTURE
King BibleSpellbinder Unholy Vespers
AxeCandelabrador Death Spiral

This build is centered around the weapon called Pentagram. The Pentagram can be a tricky weapon to build around. It can even become disadvantageous to have in certain situations. But if built properly, the Pentagram can become one of the best weapons you can find in the game. The build has offensive items and AoE effects, so enemies cannot come near you.

4. Magic Build

Fire WandSpinach Hellfire
Lightning RingDuplicatorThunder Loop
King BibleSpellbinderUnholy Vespers
GarlicPummarola Soul Eater
Song of ManaSkull O’ManiacvMannajja

Magic-oriented items are pretty strong in Vampire Survivors. So, it is very easy to make a magic build with them. The core weapon for this build is the Magic Wand. Other magic-oriented weapons like the Fire Wand, King Bible, and the Lightning Ring are also used in the build. To finish the build, we used Garlic and the Song of Mana. These two items will cover enemies that are too close to our character.

3. Defense Build

Fire WandSpinachHellfire
Song of ManaSkull O’ManiacvMannajja
AxeCandelabradorDeath Spiral
CrossCloverHeaven Sword

Defense build focuses on the items that push the enemy back or kills them before they can come too close. King Bible and Garlic are the two close-range weapons that excel at that. On top of that, we are using the Song of Mana, which also helps reinforce the close-range combat capability. Other than that, Fire Wand, Axe, and Cross are good projectile weapons that will help you kill enemies faster.

2. Fast Projectile Build

Knife Bracer Thousand Edge
Fire WandSpinachHellfire
Magic WandEmpty TomeHoly Wand
Whip Hollow Heart Bloody Tear
Axe Candelabrador Death Spiral
CrossCloverHeaven Sword

This build is centered around having a lot of projectiles constantly shooting out of character. The main weapon for the build is the Knife. At max level, it continuously shoots the knife without any delay. The magic wand also gets the same upgrade. So these two combined can be very powerful.

The Fire Wand is there to cover the direction of an area and also has a lot of damage. The Whip is for the enemies that come too close. It can also heal you at max level. Axe and Cross go with the whole projectile theme and are strong on their own.

1. Reaper Build

Axe Candelabrador Death Spiral
Song of ManaSkull O’ManiacMannajja
Whip Hollow HeartBloody Tear
LaurelMetaglio Right + Metaglio LeftCrimson Shroud
Fire WandSpinach Hellfire
Clock LancetSilver Ring + Gold RingInfinite Corridor

The Reaper build is one of the highest damage builds in Vampire Survivors. If you have the Red Death character, it is recommended to start with that since there are a lot of items you need to build. But that is still fine if you don’t have the Red Death.

Much like the Reaper, we will focus on getting the Axe to the max and making it the scythe. Song of Mana for close-range coverage and Whip for close range and some healing. Other weapons also dish out a lot of damage, and Clock Lancets can stop enemies in their tracks, making things easier.
