Learn how to get the Travel Medallion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Getting tired of jumping on the horses, running around, or even paragliding to your desired location in Hyrule? Well, what is the easiest way, I assume. Of course, the fast travel points. However, In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are no specific travel points. That means you can just create a portal anywhere in the Hyrule. All you need is the Travel Medallion. Comes at a cost, for an obvious reason.
This huge time-saver gets unlocked only after completing a number of side quests. Thanks to the devs, as this certain perk was only closed to certain people with the Expansion Pass of Breath of the Wild, the prequel of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Now, you just need to complete a number of stories, and it’s yours! Easy as that. However, how do you get this Travel Medallion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Let me break it down for you. Hop in!

How to Get the Travel Medallion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Finding Robbie
At the very first, complete the main story mission Camera Work in the Depths. This will lead you to the rescue mission of our old lab technician Robbie. He is still grumpy since the Purah Pad should’ve been named after him in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. After the necessary works he tells you to do, he will be then available in the Lookout Landing.
Send Robbie to Hateno Ancient Tech Lab
Complete a Portion of “Regional Phenomena”
Check your Adventure Log. You will notice that a new main quest has arrived, named Regional Phenomena. Start this quest from Rito Village (-3596, 1802, 0212) in Hyrule. This quest requires you to explore the Four main temples in Hyrule. Not gonna lie, but this is quite tiresome. However, our focus is not here; for now.
All you have to do is, complete any one of them. Yes, any one will do the trick. Afterward, head back to Lookout Landing and talk to Josha, Robbie’s research assistant in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. She will send you to the depth again. This time, you will come back with the Autobuild ability.
Fix the Hot Air Baloon
After that, Josha will ask you to rebuild the Hot Air Balloon just outside the lab. You will already have the schematics to repair the balloon from the depths. So, go on and repair the Baloon.
Now that you have fixed the Air Baloon, Robbie will express his gratitude, and in return, he will start helping you to upgrade your Purah Pad. He also mentions that he needs to return to the Purah Pad lab in Hateno Village (3779, -2123, 0251), which is in East Necluda. As for the reason, he says that he can make more significant improvements to the Purah Pad once he heads back there. After this conversation, Robbie will eventually move out to that Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.
Talk to Robbie in the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab
As Robbie has now returned to his old lab, he is waiting for you with a new upgrade for the Purah Pad. He will upgrade the Sensor to locate Shrines faster. He will then give you a short quest to test out its performance. Complete it and get back to him in the lab again.
At this point, Robbie will give you Three options to choose from for the Purah Pad upgrade. There, you will see the option for the Travel Medallion upgrade for the Purah Pad. This Travel Medallion upgrade in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is by far one of the best things to get, without a doubt.
Initiate “Presenting: The Travel Medallion”
Robbie will now ask you to get the prototype for the Travel Medallion. You will need to head to Akkala Ancient Tech Lab (4505, 3144, 0245), the far northeastern corner of the map and east of Death Mountain and now guarded by the Yiga Clan.
Head there without wasting a single moment. Just at the front entrance of the lab, a Yiga Footsoldier and a Yiga Blademaster will ambush you. Now, deal with these guys carefully, as these are trained assassins. You will do fine; just, take a breath in the wild.
After the short delay, get inside the lab, and you will meet Konba, the fashion designer. To show gratitude, he will give you a piece of Yiga armor and will leave the place immediately. What you have to do is, look for the chest on the northeast corner. Open it, and there you will find the Travel Medallion Prototype.
All’s Well That Ends Well
Return to Hateno Lab, and Robbie will be delighted to see you with the Travel Medallion. Within a moment, he will upgrade your Purah Pad, and the Travel Medallion is now activated.
Robbie will tell you to uncover more of the map data so that he can upgrade the Travel Medallion; in other words, the upgrade will increase the number of gates you can drop off at once.
You will need 10 more Regions on the map to get 2 Travel Medallion Gates. Moreover, 15 will be required to get 3 Gates.
