Killzone could finally be making a comeback after more than a decade away. According to a new report, Guerrilla Games has started work on a new Killzone project, although development is still said to be at a very early stage.
Guerrilla is collaborating with an external studio on what sources describe as a Killzone remaster or remake. Sony and Guerrilla Games have not officially announced the project, meaning details could still change significantly before anything is revealed publicly.

New Killzone Could Be a Remake or Remaster
According to MP1st, the most consistent information points toward a modernized version of an existing Killzone game rather than an entirely new sequel.
The specific game has not been identified. However, the original Killzone from 2004 is being viewed as a possible candidate for a remake or remaster. The report also claims Guerrilla is working alongside a studio outside Sony’s first-party network.
People Can Fly has emerged as one possible partner. In March 2025, the studio signed an agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment to develop a prototype codenamed Project Delta based on an IP owned by Sony. There is currently no confirmation that Project Delta is connected to Killzone.
Killzone Has Been Dormant Since Shadow Fall
Guerrilla spent nearly a decade developing Killzone before moving its attention toward Horizon. Killzone: Shadow Fall launched alongside the PS4 in 2013 and remains the most recent mainline entry in the franchise. Guerrilla later described Shadow Fall as a turning point that encouraged the studio to pursue something new.
The reported Killzone project is still extremely early, and MP1st specifically notes that an official reveal is not expected anytime soon. Development priorities at Guerrilla could also change before the project reaches full production.
