Riot just revealed some new Abyssal Mask changes for Patch 13.1.
The Preseason 2023 has arrived, bringing with it a slew of changes. The reintroduction of the Chemtech Drake, the addition of new legendary items, new ping and ward system adjustments, the overhaul of the Jungle, and the return of several extremely popular items are among the changes. One of those items is the Abyssal Mask.
The Abyssal Mask is an item in League of Legends that grants Magic Resistance, HP, and damage. It was introduced to League of Legends in season 8, replacing the famous item Abyssal Scepter. The item lasted in the game for a few years before being removed in Patch 10.23.
However, this Preseason Riot chose to bring back Abyssal Mask after a two-year absence. Abyssal Mask, like Rod of Ages, has stayed fairly unchanged, however, unlike ROA, it is not a mediocre item. It’s a good item that works well on tank champions with mana.
Since Rod of Ages is being altered, so is Abyssal Mask, as they are both made of Catalyst of Aeons.
Spideraxe30 recently posted the Abyssal Mask changes to his Twitter page.

Abyssal Mask Changes
- Damage to Mana conversion reduced from 8% to 7%.
- Mana to healing conversion increased from 20% to 25%.
- Max healing per cast increased from 15 to 20.
Abyssal Masks Damage to Mana conversion will be dropping by one percent but to compensate Riot is increasing its healing by quite a bit. This should help with some of the sustain issues that tanks have in the late game.
Release Date
Changes to the Abyssal Mask will be coming to live servers in Patch 13.1, which is set to be released in early 2023.
Although the precise release date is uncertain, it is expected on January 11th.
