Riot has unveiled the first skin that will receive a prestige skin in 2025, Masque of the Black Rose Katarina.
Season 2025 will be one of the biggest launches in League of Legends. Riot revealed many additions that will be released during that time.
Firstly, the entire season will follow a single theme. And the theme for that season will be Noxus. Therefore, we are getting a Noxus-themed Summoner’s Rift revamp, and battle pass as well. Additionally, Riot has revealed items and boots based on the region. Not only that, but the new champions we are getting in that season will be from that region as well, starting with Mel Medarda.
To follow that theme, one of the first skin lines we are getting is not only themed after the region but also has a massive connection to the lore. And that skin line is based on the Black Rose organization.
Black Rose is a cabal that mainly resides in Noxus but has their hands tied to other Runeterran regions as well. One of their main leaders is LeBlanc and one of their main goals is to resurrect Mordekaiser.
With that said Riot is releasing a Black Rose-inspired skin line called Masque of the Black Rose. The skin that will have a prestige edition in that skin line is Masque of the Black Rose Katarina.
Compared to her other skins, this might be the best Katarina skin. The recall animation is smooth, but the VFX does look generic. Although it is not the best Katarina skin as Battle Queen Katarina exists. Overall it’s a great addition to the game.

This newest skin will be part of the upcoming premium battle pass. Therefore, if you want this skin, then you have to purchase it. The price is still unknown at the moment.

The Masque of the Black Rose skins will be coming to League of Legends on Patch 25.S1.1, which will be coming out in early January.
