Riot Games teased the upcoming 3 new champions for League of Legends: a gloomy artillery mage, a tailor-made for top lane, and a new sentinel of light marksman. Here’s everything you need to know about the new champions that are coming out in 2021.

Last year, Riot Games announced that they will release 5 new champions each new season. And in the Season 2021 cinematic, they again assured that there will also be 5 new champions in 2021 as well.

In the meantime, Riot has already revealed the first champion of 2021, Viego, the Ruined King, who is going live in League of Legends Patch 11.2. Moreover, in the announcement, League of Legends’ lead champion producer Ryan “Reav3” Mireles has teased three new champions who are going to release this year: an AP top lane champion, a non-traditional marksman, and a mage champion.

The first champion, Reav3, mentioned an AP Top laner that would diversify the Top lane and create more choices for the other lanes as well. Reav3 used “tailor-made for top lane” and “sow together a new champion for the Ruined King’s return” words to describe the upcoming AP top lane champion.

According to Reav3, the Top laner is being designed by Stashu. However, the release date or how the new top laner is going to look is still unknown.

The second champion that Riot Reav3 talked about was the Gloomy Artillery Mage, who “prefer if we didn’t bother her at all.” The new mage is going to be from Bandle City, which means League of Legends might finally get a new Yordle champion in 2021.

The Gloomy Artillery Mage is going to be designed by Riot Lutzburg.

I’m excited to be working on the “gloomy artillery mage” from Bandle City,” Riot Lutzburg said. “You know me for tanks and bruisers, so I hope you’ll enjoy my take on this type of champ!”

A “New Sentinel of Light” Marksman

The final champion that Riot Reav3 mentioned was a “new sentinel of light” marksman in return for the Ruined King. Just like Senna, the new marksman is also going to be a non-traditional style ADC. The exact role of the new marksman is still unknown, but Reav3 said, “The Sentinel is not the bot lane ADC for the year, no.”

Lastly, the “new sentinel of light” marksman is going to be designed by RiotJag.
