The Bounty System is getting some changes in the upcoming Patch 14.23.
One of the biggest changes in League of Legends in the last couple of patches apart from the new ARAM map Bridge of Progress was the Bounty Changes. The changes were implemented in Patch 14.21 and have completely overhauled how the bounty system functions in the game.
The Bounty System is one of the oldest and most recognized systems in League of Legends. It is a gameplay feature that allows a team that has fallen behind in gold and experience to catch up to the opposing team. When a player has accumulated more gold compared to their opposing counterparts, they are given a “Bounty”. If an opposing player kills that player they are given an extra amount of gold called Bounty Gold, which depends on how big the bounty was. Apart from player bounties, there are Objective Bounties which, grant extra gold by taking objectives.
However, up until recently, the Bounty System was very barebones, and players could exploit some of its features to circumvent bounties. Thus, with Patch 14.21, Riot decided to improve the Bounty System to make it much more fleshed out. However, like any new system, it has its problems, hence Riot is making some adjustments to the system in the upcoming patch.
