The upcoming ARAM map will be limited-time only.

ARAM, or All Random All Mid, is one of the oldest game modes in League of Legends. It’s a casual-focused mode that is made for players who are merely looking to take a break from Summoners Rift or have some fun with friends.

Due to its causal-friendly nature, it has become extremely popular among players. It’s also the reason ARAM doesn’t receive any major updates like Summoners Rift. However, Riot does perform regular balance changes. But it is about to change soon as Riot plans to finally release a new map for ARAM.

The Bridge of Progress

The new ARAM map is called The Bridge of Progress. It is an Arcane-inspired map that has elements from both Zaun and Piltover.

The Purple side, which is shown in the image seems to have architecture based on Zaun. Turrets, inhibitors, and Nexus, all seem to be powered by shimmer, which was introduced in Arcane Season 1. On the other side, the Piltover side or the Blue side seems to be powered by Hextech.

Here’s a better look at the Zaun architecture, with the Zaun-themed Nexus and Towers.

Additionally, there will be smoke vents that will act as the Brushes for the map. There are also more new mechanics to the map that Riot has not been revealed yet.

Is The Bridge of Progress Permanent?

Seeing the new ARAM map, many are excited that ARAM will finally get something new. However, many are skeptical as Riot has in the past created an ARAM map that they never used again. The Bilgewater-themed Map “The Buthers Bridge” was introduced in 2028 and had about two weeks of runtime. It was also reintroduced again in 2019 and since then it was never used again.

Now fans are skeptical that The Bridge of Progress will meet the same fate too. Regarding this Riot Cadmus says “This map WILL be limited time for the duration of the Arcane event. HOWEVER, this should not be the last time you’ll see this map. I cannot share more at the moment, but I do want to start to set expectations that we’ll not be in the business of making a map update like this as a one-off.”

So judging from what Riot Cadmus said, The Bridge of Progress is a limited-time map but we will be seeing the map in the future. Maybe The Buthers Bridge too, someday.
