The latest patch preview is out for Patch 13.5 as the Yuumi Rework and more are incoming.

As a frequently updated game, League of Legends has managed to keep the game fresh in a way. The changes are geared towards keeping the game as balanced as possible. Over the past few patches, Riot has gotten better at addressing the issues at hand. However, when one issue is fixed, another one pops up. In this pendulum of balancing, Riot still continues to work to reach a stable point in the game.

Patch 13.4 introduced changes to Support Items, Jungle Pets, Kill Experience, Runes, and more. Also, some notable nerfs and buffs included Thresh, Azir, etc. Since the update has landed, bruiser supports have risen in priority while enchanters have dropped. Also, the jungle meta is starting to shift as Riot slowly makes incremental changes.

Patch 13.5 will do more of the same, more jungle changes, champion buffs and nerfs, etc. There are many changes to discuss, like the Yuumi Rework, Azir, etc. In a new patch preview, Riot Phroxzon shared the new patch preview on Twitter. With that said, here are all the changes coming to Patch 13.5.

LoL Patch Notes 13.5

Many large updates are coming in this patch as multiple champions are getting adjustments to this patch and system changes. With this being another patch addressing Solo Queue outliers, Patch 13.6 will be the first more pro-play-centric patch. Let’s talk about all the changes so far.

Mini-Reworks

Yuumi is getting a mini-rework, as previously announced. Let’s start with that, as a new Yuumi is coming soon.

Yuumi

The love-hate relationship with Yuumi continues with most of the player base. With Riot determining that Yuumi’s design is flawed, they have gone back to the drawing board to reinvent this champion. Thus, this is the answer Riot has come up with.

Yuumi is set to get a new passive and change how the rest of her abilities work. They all revolve around the Best Friend mechanic, which is an interesting concept. Here are the following changes for Yuumi.

Base Stats:

  • Health Growth: 84 >>> 69.
  • Base Mana: 400 >>> 440.

(New) Passive – Feline Friendship:

When Yuumi’s spells or attacks affect champions, she heals herself and charges a heal for her allies. If she Attaches within the next 4s, she brings the heal to her ally. While Attached, this effect automatically occurs.

While Attached, Yuumi builds Friendship whenever her ally kills champions and minions. Each ally has their own unique Friendship score. While attached to her Best Friend, her abilities gain bonus effects. While her Passive is ready, Yuumi’s Auto Attack range is increased by 50.

  • Cooldown: 20-10s (levels 1-11).
  • Heal Amount: 20-105 (+15% AP) levels 1-18.

Q – Prowling Projectile:

Yuumi fires a missile that slows the first enemy hit. If cast while Attached, Yuumi can control the missile for a short period before it becomes empowered, greatly accelerating and slowing enemies by an increased amount.

  • Best Friend Bonus: The Slow will always be empowered, and hitting enemy Champions also grants 10/12/14/16/18/20 ( +10% AP) On-Hit damage to her ally for 5 seconds. This damage is increased by up to 75% based on her Ally’s Critical Strike Chance.
  • Cooldown: 7.5/7.25/7.0/6.75/6.5/6.25s.
  • Mana Cost: 50 at all ranks.
  • Base Damage: 60/90/120/150/180/210 (+20% AP).
  • Base Slow Amount: 20% decaying over 1s.
  • Empowered Slow Amount: 55/60/65/70/75/80% for decaying over 2s.
  • Empowered Damage: 80/140/200/260/320/380 (+35% AP).
  • Missile Width: 65 >>> 55.
  • Reveals targets hit by the ability.

W – You and Me!:

The ability is being changed to accommodate the new Best Friend Mechanic.

  • Adaptive Force to Yuumi/Ally: Removed.
  • No longer counts as a “Positive Boon” for Summon Aery.
  • Best Friend Bonus: Yuumi gains an additional 10-20% Heal & Shield Power (based on Ally level), and her Anchored ally gains 3/5/7/9/11 (+4% AP) On-Hit healing. This is affected by Yuumi’s Heal & Shield Power.

E – Zoomies!:

Yuumi no longer heals with this ability and instead shields. Also gives Mana to her Anchor.

  • Cooldown: 12/11.5/11/10.5/10s
  • Mana Cost: 80/90/100/110/120
  • Shield Granted: 90/120/150/180/210 (+30%AP)
  • Move Speed: 20% while the Shield persists
  • Attack Speed: 35% (+8% per 100 AP)
  • Restores 20/24/28/32/36 Mana to her Anchor (not herself), increased by up to 100% based on their missing Mana (30% to 80% missing mana).
  • No Best Friend Bonus; all allies can be saved by Yuumi.

R – Final Chapter:

For 3.5s, Yuumi fires five magical waves that affect enemies and allies. If cast while attached, Yuumi can steer the waves to follow her mouse.

  • For Ally Champions, the waves heal. The heal is increased by 130% on her Best Friend. All excess healing is converted to a shield, lasting 3s after the ability ends.
  • For all enemies, the waves deal damage and apply a stacking slow.
  • Cooldown: 110/100/90s >>> 120/110/100s
  • Damage Per Wave: 60/80/100 (+20% AP ) >>> 75/100/125 (+20% AP)
  • Heal Amount Per Wave: 35/50/65 (+15% AP)
  • Slow Duration: 1.25s
  • Slow Amount: 10% + 10% additive per wave hit (max 50% slow)
  • Best Friend Bonus: Waves also grant Yuumi’s Best Friend 20/40/60 (+10% AP) Armor and Magic Resistance for the duration of the spell.

Azir

The Azir mini-rework is a lot more sudden as the balance team has gone into to change how the champion works. A lot of it is to change how higher ELO players tend to make him too strong while low ELO makes him seem weaker. So here are the total changes to Azir.

Base Stats:

A majority of the Azir players navigated the champion with Q max. With these changes, that should no longer be the norm regarding raw stats.

  • Base Health: 622 >>> 550
  • Base Mana: 380 >>> 320
  • Mana Growth: 36 >>> 40
  • Armor Growth: 4.2 >>> 5.0
  • Attack Damage Growth: 2.8 >>> 3.5.
  • Attack Speed Ratio and Base: .625 >>> .658
  • Attack Speed Growth: 3% >>> 5%

P – Shurima’s Legacy:

  • Turret Duration: 60 seconds >>> 30 seconds
  • Cooldown: 180 seconds >>> 90 seconds.
  • Damage: 150 + 4 per minute + (15% AP) physical damage >>> 230-410 based on Azir’s level (+40% AP) magic damage
  • [Removed] 37.5% bonus damage to champions
  • [New] Applies Azir’s spell effects as a single-target spell
  • Health: 2550 >>> 3000

  • Magic Resist: 100+1 per minute >>> 30-90 based on Azir’s level

  • [Removed] Passive attack speed.

Champion Nerfs

Some of the more obnoxious builds are getting nerfs. We have the AP Twitch nerf and changes to Gangplank, Aurelion Sol, and more. The changes to Gangplank, Twitch, and so are known. Hence, here is the list of nerfs in Patch 13.5 that we do not know the specifics of.

Aurelion Sol

He has been a bit too tanky in terms of base stats, so some of that is taken off along with a Breath of Light nerf.

  • Base Stats:
    • HP Growth: 100 >>> 95.
    • Armor Growth: 4.8 >>> 4.3.
  • Q – Breath of Light:
    • Bonus Magic Damage Burst AP Ratio: 40% >>> 35%

Caitlyn

Some base AD and Armor is being reduced to make her more vulnerable in lane.

    • Base armor: 28 >>> 27.

Gangplank

His passive is taking a bit of a hit while his barrel recharge cooldown is now constant.

    • Recharge time: 18 – 14 seconds >>> 18 seconds at all levels and ranks.

Rammus

His damage was a bit much as a tank so that is being reduced from his base AD and Powerball.

  • Base Stats:
    • AD Growth: 3.5 >>> 2.75.
  • Q – Powerball:
    • Damage: 100/130/160/190/220 >>> 100/125/150/175/200.

The AP is getting reduced in the most important ability for AP Twitch.

    • Cooldown: 10/9.5/9/8.5/8 >>> 11/10.5/10/9.5/9 seconds.

Yorick

Ghouls have been doing a bit too much damage with his E – Mourning Mist.

  • E – Mourning Mist:
    • Bonus Ghoul Damage: 40% >>> 30%.

    Champion Adjustments

Other than those buffs, nerfs, and reworks, there are three other changes. Zed, Ashe, and Pantheon. The Zed and Pantheon Changes are not known, but the Ashe changes have made the rounds quite a bit. Here they are as follows.

    Ashe

Support Ashe is getting nerfed while ADC Ashe is getting some more power.

    • Base Stats:
      • Base Health: 640 >>> 600.
      • Health Growth: 101 >>> 105.

    • W – Volley:

    • R – Enchanted Crystal Arrow:
      • Cooldown: 80/70/60 seconds >>> 100/80/60 seconds.

    Pantheon

It seems that Pantheon is likely to get a bit more damage at the cost of survivability. More damage, faster cast time, and a lower cost of Q, while his E is getting higher cooldowns. Also, some of his base stats are getting adjusted.

    • Base Stats:
      • HP regeneration: 7.5 >>> 6.
      • Attack Speed: 0.644 >>> 0.658.
      • Attack Speed Ratio: 0.644 >>> 0.658.

      • Cooldown: 22/20.5/19/17.5/16 seconds >>> 22/21/20/19/18 seconds.

    Zed

Zed is expected to get a change on his E Cooldown at the cost of reduced magic resistance.

    • Base Stats:
      • Base Magic Resistance: 32 >>> 29.
    • E – Shadow Slash:
      • Cooldown: 5/4.75/4.5/4.25/4 >>> 5/4.5/4/3.5/3 seconds.

    System Buffs

The only buff in terms of items or runes in this patch is Cosmic Drive. That item has been niche and on the wayside for a while, so the buff is very much welcome.

    Cosmic Drive

The build path has been changed along with more AP into the item.

    • Build Path: Fiendish Codex + Aether Wisp + Ruby Crystal >>> Fiendish Codex + Aether Wisp + Amplifying Tome.
    • Combine Cost: 850 gold >>> 815 gold.
    • Ability Power: 65 >>> 90.
    • Health: 200 >>> 0.

    System Adjustments

No system nerfs this patch, but there are a few adjustments on the horizon. More jungle changes are coming to further nerf ganking first strategies and giving farming junglers more income. On the other hand, we have changes to Grasp of the Undying and Triumph, two of the better runes in the game.

    Grasp of the Undying

The bonus Health gained is being increased while the healing on it has been reduced. So, it scales better but less healing up front.

    • Bonus health: 5/3 (Melee/Ranged) >>> 7/4 (Melee/Ranged).
    • Heal: from 1.7%/1.02% max HP (Melee/Ranged) >>> 1.2%/0.72% (Melee/Ranged).
    • Now has a base heal of 3/1.8 (Melee/Ranged).

    Jungle Changes

There are more changes coming to the jungle as Sweeper cooldown is going up, counterjungle is being made easier, and more XP and gold adjustments in the jungle camps.

    • Oracle Lens:
      • Cooldown: 90-60 seconds >>> 120-90 seconds (based on average level).
    • Enemy Jungle Damage Reduction: 20% >>> 0%.
    • Jungle XP in the first 14 minutes: 75% >>> 40-75% based on gametime (linear scaling from 0:00 minutes).
    • Gold Camp:
      • Blue Sentinel: 80 gold >>> 90 gold.
      • Gromp: 70 gold >>> 80 gold.
      • Krugs:
        • Medium Krugs: 5 gold >>> 10 gold.
        • Small Krugs: 13 gold >>> 14 gold.
      • Murk Wolf:
        • Big Wolf: 50 gold >>> 55 gold.
        • Small Wolf: 13 gold >>> 15 gold.
      • Raptors:
        • Razorbeak: 30 gold >>> 35 gold.
        • Mini Raptors: 7 gold >>> 8 gold.
      • Red Brambleback: 80 gold >>> 90 gold.

    Triumph

This is nerfing healing up front while having more healing base

    • Heal: 10% missing Health >>> 5% missing Health.
    • Now has a base heal of 2.5% max Health(1.5% on ARAM).

    ARAM Changes

More ARAM changes are coming as Riot vowed to put more emphasis on the mode. The turret rubble mechanic might be updated as per Riot’s last blog post. Also, the structures in ARAM are getting updates. Here are all of those changes.

    Outer Turret

    • Attack Damage: 185 – 233 (over 8 minutes) >>> 185 – 293 (over 12 minutes)
    • Base Armor: 70 >>> 75, scaling to 96 over 8 minutes.
    • Base Magic Resist: 75, scaling to 96 over 8 minutes.

At 12 minutes, the Outer Tower’s Armor and Magic Resist will be set to 40.

    Inhibitor Turret

    • Attack Damage: 195 – 243 (over 8 minutes) >>> 195 – 375 (over 15 minutes)
