Smuggling Contraband is one of the best ways to make credit in Starfield. Here is how to do it in the game.
Starfield gives players a lot of freedom in choosing how their character wants to be. You can be a boxer with a high investment in unarmed combat, or you can be a silent assassin with high sneaking skills. And, of course, there is the standard style of gameplay, which is to shoot your way out of any situation.
If you want to make a quick credit, you may want to smuggle contraband and sell it for a high price. But you cannot take contraband anywhere you want. If the planet has a scanner, it will scan you before landing. If they find contraband on your ship, they will confiscate it. But there is a workaround for it. Here, we will discuss how you can smuggle contraband without getting caught in Starfield.
Smuggling Contraband in Starfield
Contrabands will get scanned and confiscated if you go to an area that scans for them. On top of that, depending on how much you have, you will also be fined for it. But there are ways to bypass the scanner to smuggle contraband. And if you don’t want to invest in any skill or upgrade to sell contraband, you can find a planet without a scanner and sell them there.
You will need a shielded cargo hold for your spaceship to bypass the scanners and smuggle contraband. Not all the spaceports have the item on hand. To get a shielded cargo hold, you will need to make your way to the Porrima III galaxy. On the planet Red Mile, you can meet up with an NPC called Anderssen in the shop there. He will sell you the shielded cargo hold.
After that, you can place your contraband in the shielded cargo hold to avoid getting detected by the scanners. This is the best way to smuggle contraband anywhere in Starfield. But if you don’t want to invest in a shielded cargo hold, you can level up your deception and scan jammer skills. That way, you have a chance to bypass the scanner. But it will not work 100% of the time. So make sure to make a save before getting scanned.
