G2 Esports have signed their former player and captain “Fabian” as their new coach, while NAVI player “Blurr” will fill the sole empty player spot on the team.
Rainbow Six Siege legend Fabian “Fabian” Hällsten is making a huge return to G2 Esports, replacing their long-standing coach Thomas “Shas” Lee. On the other hand, the youngster Byron “Blurr” Murray will replace Kevin “Prano” Pranowitz, who departed from the team after the Berlin Major.
With G2, Fabian and his team became one of the most successful and strongest teams in R6S esports scene, winning three Pro League Finals in seasons 4, 5, and 8. He even led his team to win back-to-back Six Invitational titles in 2018 and 2019, the Paris Major, and also the DreamHack Winter 2018.
After departing from G2, Fabian tried his luck on Team Vitality, but to no success. Later, he founded and directed Delta Project, an organization that fielded both men’s and women’s teams but was unable to make it to the Challenger’s League. Most recently, Fabian worked on the desk as a EUL and APAC North League analyst during Stages 1 & 2.
Now the God Emperor himself is making a grand return to make G2 great again with the help of a revitalized team.
“Blurr,” on the other hand, will be following the footsteps of “Doki” and CTZN,” both of whom left NAVI to join G2 Esports. Blurr had an impressive 2021 season, which brought him to the limelight in the Siege community.
Blurr on joining G2,
“I’m excited for a new challenge and journey with a well rounded roster, I believe this team will help me to improve and be more consistent as a player to aim for important wins in the future.”
G2 got knocked out from the quarter-finals of the last two majors, but with this revamped team, they will now look to win a Major title at all cost. You can catch the new G2 Esports team against HEROIC tonight at 20:30 CEST as EUL Stage 3 kicks off with the first playday.
