In the rogue-like computer game Dwarf Fortress, you can explore the fantastical world of dwarves who set out to build a stronghold. This text-based game gives you the option of advancing your colony. Players can choose different Modes to play. There will be colonies with different civilizations, Dwarves, and Goblins. You will get the chance to create your world each time.
You can set the World Options according to your choices in the game. The civilizations, colonies, and land are diversified. As you choose each world’s size, history, civilizations, Beasts, etc., the adventure will be different for you.

World Options Explained
There are Basic World Options and Detailed World Options:
Basic World Options
When creating a World, you must choose from the Basic World Options. You will have to choose the following Basic World Options;
- Map Size
- History Length
- Number of Civilizations
- Number of Beasts
- Natural Savagery
- Mineral Occurrence
You may choose the options you like. You can choose the World Map short, medium, long, or very long. If you select “very long,” then the world will be vast and take much time to complete. But it will be much more adventurous for you! Then the “number of beasts” option, you can choose any option, and the way you choose the types and numbers of beasts will be according to your choice. In the end, you should choose “everywhere” in the “mineral occurrence” option. In this way, you will have resources everywhere.
Detailed World Options
Then if you click on Detailed World Options, you will see many more options appearing on your screen. You can customize your world experience in more depth with these options. You can choose, Volcanos, Forests, Glaciers, Arctic, Deserts, and any Biomes in the detailed options. But remember, the way you choose your world, the enemies will be different, and you will need various skills to defeat those.
