Best Akali Skins in League of Legends 2022: Every Skin Ranked from Best to Worst

Akali has 14 different skins, which is the 5th highest among all the champions in League of Legends.

With her rework in season 8, Akali has gone from a simple button-mashing champion to a premier assassin with a high skill ceiling. Akali can be very satisfying to play if you can master her kit. Also, it’s fun to watch how she can dash in and out of her ‘shroud’ and assassinate the enemy backline in pro play.

Akali’s popularity surged after her rework but started to rise even more with Riot’s release of K/DA music videos. Though her kit can be frustrating to play against for squishy champions, she has become one of the most popular champions for top and mid-lane.

All Akali Skins in League of Legends

Akali currently has 14 skins, 15 if you count the classic. That is a lot of skins compared to most of the champions in League of Legends. Most of her skins are available in the shop to purchase, with a few of them in the ‘Legacy Vault’ and one ‘Prestige Edition Skin’ that can be claimed by ‘Prestige Points’.

Akali Skins Available in the Shop

Here is a list of all Akali skins that you can buy from the League of Legends client shop.

Nurse Akali

  • Release Date: January 4, 2011
  • Price: 975 RP

This Akali skin does not have any new animations or sounds. But still, it is one of the coolest older skins of Akali. Her Q ability in this skin will throw out needles in front of her instead of Kunais. This makes this skin worth the 975 RP price tag, in my opinion.

Blood Moon Akali

  • Release Date: June 7, 2011
  • Price: 975 RP

The overall red aesthetic of the skin looks very good. Being a standard tier skin, it also doesn’t have any new animations or sounds. But if you are a fan of the Blood moon skin line, this is a decent skin to add to your collection.

Silverfang Akali

  • Release Date: November 29, 2011
  • Price: 975 RP

This is another basic skin without any animations. It is hard to justify the price of this skin. This skin often feels like a silver chroma for the base model.

Headhunter Akali

  • Release Date: March 23, 2015
  • Price: 1350 RP

Though there aren’t a lot of particles and the animations are pretty simple, the skin excels in its color scheme. The hot ping visual effects of her abilities simply look gorgeous. For Akali mains, Headhunter Akali is one of the must-haves.

Sashimi Akali

  • Release Date: September 7, 2016
  • Price: 750 RP

Riot could’ve made this skin so much more for a champion that has an animation of eating ramen out of a bowl. But sadly, it is a simple skin with no new animation and shared splash art. The skin model in the game also doesn’t look that good.

K/DA Akali

K/DA Akali

  • Release Date: November 3, 2018
  • Price: 1350 RP

This is one of the best Akali skins of all time. The price may be a little high, but you get everything you want in a skin. The animations work well with the theme. Also, the champion model and color scheme look perfect.

Project Akali

Project Akali

  • Release Date: August 1, 2019
  • Price: 1350 RP

The ‘Project’ is one of the most popular skin lines in League of Legends. But Project Akali feels forced into the theme. Having said that, the animations and sound effects of the skin are excellent.

True Damage Akali

  • Release Date: November 10, 2019
  • Price: 1350 RP

This skin has a lot of cool animations compared to other skins. True Damage Akali has a custom sound effect on her E ability. The price could’ve been a little lower in my opinion. But overall, playing with this skin is very satisfying.

K/DA All Out Akali

  • Release Date: October 29, 2020
  • Price: 1350 RP

This is one of Akali’s best if not the best skin in League of Legends. Her animations and sound effects of this skin look very beautiful. If we have to nitpick, the splash art could have been a little better.

Crime City Nightmare Akali

  • Release Date: August 26, 2021
  • Price: 1350 RP

This is the latest addition to the long list of Akali skins. It has all the bells and whistles. The model looks very clean. Animations and sound effects are also beautiful.

Skins in The Leagacy Vault

Legacy vault has some of the oldest classic skins of Akali that cannot be purchased anytime you want. These skins become available during certain events.

Stinger Akali

  • Release Date: May 11, 2010
  • Price: 520 RP

This is the cheapest and oldest of the bunch, along with Infernal Akali. Only for 520 RP, you can get this skin when it becomes available during events. This is just a basic recolor of the base skin. But the passive indicator has a different yellow color.

Infernal Akali

Infernal Akali

  • Release Date: May 11, 2010
  • Price: 520 RP

Infernal Akali is the best bargain on the list. You get a pretty cool skin for just 520 RP. In terms of animations, there isn’t any, other than the fact that she kinda glows.

All-Star Akali

All-Star Akali

  • Release Date: June 24, 2010
  • Price: 975 RP

Released during the 2010 World Cup, this is a unique skin from a unique skin line. But other than that, it doesn’t offer much. There aren’t any animations, and the model looks bad in-game. Also, the price is quite high for what you get.

Rare and Limited Prestige Skin

Prestige skins can’t be bought directly from the store. Players need to collect prestige points to claim these skins.

K/DA Akali Prestige Edition

K/DA Akali Prestige Edition

  • Release Date: December 6, 2018
  • Price: Special

Prestige skins are seen by many as the golden chroma of the same skin. Though this is true, prestige skins are also very rare. And that also carries some value. Overall K/DA Akali Prestige Edition is a gorgeous skin and a lot better than the K/DA Akali skin. So if you have the points for it and you main Akali, we suggest you pick up the skin without any hesitation.

LoL Best Akali Skins in 2022

  • S-Tier (Best): K/DA All Out Akali, K/DA Akali Prestige Edition
  • A-Tier (Good): True Damage Akali, K/DA Akali, Crime City Akali, Headhunter Akali
  • B-Tier (Average): Blood Moon Akali, Project Akali, Infernal Akali, Nurse Akali
  • C-Tier (Not Recommended): Silverfang Akali, Stinger Akali
  • D-Tier (Bad): Sashimi Akali, All-Star Akali

S-Tier

K/DA All Out Akali is by far the best Akali skin in my opinion. So it deserves to be in the S-Tier. As for K/DA Akali Prestige Edition, I don’t think it is any different from the K/DA Akali skin, other than the color change. But I had to put this one a tier higher than K/DA Akali because of its rarity.

A-Tier

Skins in this tier are very solid and worth the money. Every one of the four skins in this tier has good animations and looks and feels good while playing. But if you only want to buy 1 of these skins, I would suggest going for the K/DA Akali skin. It is the best one in this tier.

B-Tier

These skins are nothing special but good enough. Blood Moon Akali, Infernal Akali, and Nurse Akali are better than other standard or classic skins of Akali, so they are in this tier. Project Akali is not good enough considering the 1350 RP price tag. So it fell into B-tier.

C-Tier

Skins in this tier are a little bit better than the ones in D-tier. So to separate them, I have put these 2 in C-Tier. Still, I don’t recommend any of them.

D-Tier

These Akali skins, to me, are the worst. Sashimi Akali is a cheap skin with so much lost potential, and the All-Star Akali is just a bad overall skin with a high price tag.

How Many Akali Skins are There in 2022?

Akali currently has a whopping 14 skins in total. But she doesn’t have any high-tier (Legendary or Ultimate) skins where every animation is new, or the whole concept of the champion gets reimagined.

Riot has 7 different skins tier: Timeworn or Classic, Budget, Standard, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, and Ultimate. And the amount of Akali skins in each tier is as follows:

  • Timeworn: 3
  • Budget: 1
  • Standard: 3
  • Epic: 6
  • Legendary: 0
  • Mythic: 1
  • Ultimate: 0

What is the next Akali skin?

There isn’t any official news or leaks about the next Akali skin. But Riot is overhauling their mythic content soon. They will be releasing older prestige skins that can be purchased from the mythic shop. Current owners of some of the older prestige edition skins will be given a special edition skin that is exclusive.

So if you have the K/DA Akali Prestige Edition skin, you should be looking forward to an even more exclusive skin soon.
