The Executive Producer of League of Legends has revealed that Ashen Guardian Shen will be the last mythic Ashen Knight skin released in the game.

During the preseason 2022 announcement video, Riot revealed many upcoming additions to the game. For example, they introduced Hextech and Chemtech Drakes, new items, first strike rune, etc. Additionally, Riot also announced many upcoming changes coming to the game. And one of those changes is Mythic content overhaul.

This new mythic content overhaul meant many new changes. Firstly, Riot removed the Prestige Point currency and changed Gemstones into Mythic Essence. And then Riot has also confirmed that they will be retiring the Hextech skin line. As a replacement, they have announced that they will release a new mythical skin line every new season.

And for 2022, we received the Ashen Knight skin line, loosely inspired by the Dark Souls franchise. The first skin released for this mythic skin line was Ashen Knight Pyke, and it was very well received. Fans loved this skin, and many would go so far as to say it is one of the best skins League of Legends has to offer.

Afterward, Riot released two more Ashen Knight skins which were very poorly received, Ashen Conquerer Pantheon and Ashen Slayer Sylas. And during the end of season 12, Riot released Ashen Graveknight Mordekaiser. And this skin was well received. But since Riot confirmed earlier that year that each season would have its mythic skin line, players thought that Ashen Graveknight Mordekaiser would be the last Ashen Knight mythic skin released. And while players were waiting for a new mythic skin line for season 13, Riot announced that they would make a new Ashen Knight mythic skin in patch 13.6.

Ashen Guardian Shen, The Last Mythic Ashen Knight Skin

Recently, Riot has unveiled that Ashen Guardian Shen is the upcoming addition to the Ashen Knight universe. While the skin looks gorgeous, fans were confused since Riot promised that each season would have its mythic theme. And when prominent members of the community asked Riot about the situation, they gave us a good response.

Riot Brightmoon, the Executive Producer of League of Legends, elaborated that Ashen Guardian Shen would be the “last” Ashen Knight mythic skin. Moreover, he also confirmed that, as promised, we will get a new mythic skin line in 2023.

And Riot also mentioned that the end and the release date might not match the exact year-to-year timeline since, at that time, it was their estimated release schedule.

So, we can wait for the upcoming Mythic skin line to release later this year. While we are unaware of the upcoming skin line, it should release relatively soon.
