Apex Legends‘ principal animator Moy Parra just told every Apex fan on twitter to keep their eyes peeled on June 18th.

Apex Legends season 5 was released back on May 12th. After that, there has not been any significant content update like a limited-time event or game modes. As it turns out Respawn might be saving the best for this Thursday on EA state of play.

Speculations are everywhere on what the announcement could be about. Some players are saying that it might be the announcement of the upcoming event called “Treasure Hunter” that was leaked earlier this month.

While others are jokingly saying that Respawn might finally remove features like SBMM, pathfinder grapple Nerf, etc. Obviously that is not going to happen any time soon. However, some players in the community think that something big might be announced like a possible mobile port for Apex Legends that was rumored for a long time.

Crossplay incoming?

The strongest rumor so far though has been for a possible announcement of Cross-play in Apex Legends. How Crossplay will look like in Apex is kind of hard to tell right now. If crossplay gets enabled in Apex, you might finally be able to play with your friends on other platforms such as PC, Xbox, or PlayStation.

Although most of the competitive players are not that happy hearing the possibility of Apex being cross-platform in the future. Big-name streamers like Shroud thinks that mouse/keyboard and controllers players should not exist in the same pro lobby. However, according to Shroud if you are just playing normally for fun, this should not be a big issue.

Whatever Respawn might announce in the EA play this week might be game-changing for Apex players. Good or bad this new announcement might start a new chapter for Apex Legends.
