Riot to nerf Akali, Karma, Malzahar, Ziggs, Shaco, Nocturne, and Xin Zhao in League of Legends patch 11.14.
League of Legends’ Lead Game Designer Riot Jag has previewed the upcoming patch 11.14. And it seems, they are nerfing some of the most dominant champions at this moment Akali, Shaco, Nocturne, and Xin Zhao. Furthermore, they are also nerfing mage champions: Malzahar, Ziggs along with flex pick support Karma.
Since her mini-rework type changes in patch 11.6, Akali has become one of the most dominant champions in League of Legends. Because of her flex pick potential, she is currently picked in both the Top and Mid.

Although in the soloq, her win rate is below 47%, she has a massive 24.9% ban rate in Plat+ Elo with an 11.0% pick rate in Mid and a 4.3% pick rate in Top. On the other hand, in pro games, she has a staggering 66.6% presence so far in the Summer split. And to take away some of her strength from the pro games, Riot is nerfing Akali in patch 11.14.
Currently, there are no other champions in the soloq who is as annoying as Shaco. After his buff on patch 11.5, his popularity surged rapidly and he has been maintaining a constant 53% win rate for most of season 11 while having a decent pick rate.
Even though he did receive a small nerf in patch 11.11, he currently has a 33.2% ban rate in Plat+ Elo while having a 52.78% win rate. And no wonder Riot is nerfing him in the upcoming patch.
At this current meta, Nocturne is the master of flex pick. In both soloq and pro games, he is now being played in Top, Jungle, and Mid lane where he performs equally. In patch 11.13, he has 54.97%, 54.54%, and 53.58% win rate in Top, Jungle, and Mid respectively. Furthermore, he also has an astonishing 72.8% presence in the Summer split as well.
Xin Zhao on the other hand also has a massive 58% presence in the pro game for which is getting nerfs in patch 11.14.
Lastly, Malzahar and Ziggs are two mid-lane mages who are getting nerfs along with Karma who has similar circumstances as Nocture where she is also an obnoxious flex pick.
