With the recent nerf, Yuumi currently has one the lowest win rates in League of Legends and it seems like Riot is planning to buff her on patch 10.15.
Ever since Yuumi’s release on patch 9.10, she became one of the most popular support champions in League of Legends. As her kit is very easy to master with a high heal and zoning potential she quickly became one of the most hated champions as well.
League players hated her so much that, on patch 10.12, the magical cat had around 80% ban rate across all major regions besides Korea and Japan. Many fans started to call out Riot’s balance team and some of them even stated Yuumi as the biggest mistake in League of Legends. And some of them even wanted Yuumi to be deleted from the game.
“We agree that Yuumi hasn’t been fair to play against,” Riot’s dev team said answering to the players. “But this doesn’t mean Yuumi shouldn’t exist—it just means we have to get more creative to ensure she does have adequate avenues for counterplay.”
However, after all these complaints, Riot nerfed her on patch 10.13. And with just one nerf her win rate dropped to 45.13% making her one of the lowest win rate champions in League of Legends.
Even now, on patch 10.14, she only has a 46.56% win rate in Plat+ Elo with an 8.4% pick rate. Her ban rate in the EUW server dropped to 49.6% as well where previously she had around 80% ban rate and a 100% presence in ranked. Currently, her presence in the pro plays is nothing significant as well.
Thresh on the other hand is different, despite having around a 49% win rate with a 20% pick rate in soloq, he has an astonishing 70% presence in the pro games.
Today, League of Legends’ lead gameplay designer Mark “Scruffy” Yetter previewed the patch 10.15. And it seems like, they are planning to buff Yuumi and nerf Thresh in the upcoming patch 10.15. All the new changes will go into PBE soon and will hit the live servers on patch 10.15.
