With the launch of season 5 of Apex Legends, Respawn introduced the broken ghost quest as their first attempt at giving players a single-player experience in a battle royale game.

In the quest, Crypto and Caustic both interacted in a pretty passive-aggressive way towards each other. However, later in the quests, it was obvious that Caustic literally framed Crypto as the mole. As it turns out, Caustic was the real mole all along in this scenario.

The relationship between Crypto and Watson took some hits as Watson still thinks that Crypto is the mole. After everything that happened in the broken ghost quest, Crypto has some scores to settle with Caustic. According to a writer at Respawn, Crypto and Caustic will have a clash in the upcoming season of Apex Legends.

Expect more banter between legends:

Furthermore, Tom Casiello claimed that it was just the beginning. So, expect more banter between Caustic and Crypto in the upcoming season of Apex Legends. The follow up to the broken ghost quest will most likely to contain these clashes between Caustic and Crypto.

Additionally, Watson will also have something to say to Revenant. Tom also further confirmed that just because she is nice doesn’t mean that she will not defend herself in the face of her adversaries. “Just cuz she’s the nice one, doesn’t mean she won’t stand up for herself!“, Tom Casiello on the Watson/Revenant interactions in the upcoming seasons.

So far, Respawn still hasn’t confirmed if a followup to the broken ghost quest is coming or not. However, judging by how successful the quest was, it is highly unlikely that Respawn won’t follow through with the storyline that they laid out in season 5. Although the writers confirmed that the clash between different legends is imminent at this point.
