A new episode is almost here. Many changes were made to the game in VALORANT Episode 7, including the addition of two new Agents, Deadlock and ISO. Furthermore, a new map called Sunset was introduced in the same Episode.
Although no new Agents or maps have been announced for VALORANT as of yet, the release of Episode 8 Act 1 will reveal a brand-new weapon. It will be the first time a new weapon has been added to the game since the release of VALORANT.
As is customary, Episode 8 Act 1 will bring a slew of balance changes, map rotation changes, and other tweaks to the game. Understandably, we are all eager to learn when the next Episode will begin.

VALORANT Episode 8 Act 1 Release Date
According to floxay, Episode 7 Act 3 will end on January 9, 2023, and the new Episode will begin the next day. So, expect Episode 8 Act 1 to release on January 10, 2023.
With Episode 7 Act 3 ending, every player’s rank will be reset again, and players have to start fresh in the upcoming Episode. Moreover, the competitive queue may or may not end before the actual Act. So, if you want to grind to a higher rank, now is the time.
However, you can still play Custom Games, TDM, Swiftplay, Unrated, Swiftplay, Spike Rush, and other game modes until Episode 7 Act 3 ends. This Act will end at the same time in different regions.
