Developed by CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 is a futuristic open-world RPG. The story of the game takes place during 2077 in Night City, California, where you will be filling the role of either a street kid, a Corpo, or a Nomad.
An upcoming update for the game is the Cyberpunk 2.0 update which is free for everyone who already bought the game. The update brings in a ton of different features and quality-of-life updates that the player base has been hoping for quite a long time.
This guide will list everything you can expect from the new Cyberpunk 2.0 update and go into details about some of the major additions and overhauls to the base game mechanics.
Everything New Coming to the Cyberpunk 2.0 Update
The new features coming to Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0 are as follows:
- Vehicle Combat
- Redesigned Skill Trees and Perks
- Combat AI Improvements
- Car Chases
- Revamped Police System
- Several UI improvements
- New items, Loot, and Crafting System Changes
- Redesigned Cyberware
- New Stamina System
Introduction of Vehicle Combat
Some of the noticeable updates are to the vehicle combat system. Originally, the game had no form of vehicle combat to begin with. So, with the 2.0 update, players will finally be able to engage in combat with the enemies while driving.
This includes popping out your head to fire a couple of gun rounds, spinning your cars while firing out machine guns, and also having the option to hack hostile vehicles.
Changes to the Police System
Another big change is the updates to the in-game police AI and the system. The updated NCPD will show no mercy when they catch you. But now, breaking the line of sight with the police also cuts their chase.
Instead of instantly knowing where you’re hiding, they will start searching for you, which makes things more realistic. Additionally, you can escalate police chases to a whole different level now. At the max 5 stars, they will call in MAXTAC. And fighting them is no joke.
Changes to Cyberware and Clothing
The changes to the Cyberware and clothing are also mentionable. You can change or install modifications that improve your armor rating, as most modifications have an armor stat.
Furthermore, you can use your crafting components to upgrade your cyberware as well. Finally, thanks to the cyberware changes, your clothes are no longer tied to your armor, so you can wear whatever you want!
