With Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 dropping on July 17, 2025, across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and soon on Nintendo Switch 2, CD Projekt Red delivers a substantial driving- and photography‑focused expansion that reinvigorates Night City’s streets.

New Vehicles & Unlockable Quests

Patch 2.3 introduces four brand-new vehicles, all tied to fresh side missions:

  • Yaiba ARV‑Q340 Semimaru – unlocked via a quest chain following “The Hunt” and “The Beast in Me.”
  • Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred” – rewarded after completing the Beast in Me series and related missions.
  • Yaiba ASM‑R250 Muramasa – your first customizable motorcycle, available through another side-job (or purchase via Autofiхer if missed).
  • Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila – purchasable directly on Autofiхer.

AutoDrive: Fully Automated Travel

The headline feature – AutoDrive – allows vehicles and motorcycles to independently drive to quest markers, to wander freely, or even follow cinematic routes.

  • Activated by holding H (PC) or the left stick (console) when on a road.
  • Stops automatically in combat, on heavy vehicle damage, or at red lights.

This gives players a seamless way to enjoy Night City’s backdrop or multitask while cruising.

Delamain AI Taxi Service

Once you complete the “Don’t Lose Your Mind” quest, you’ll unlock the ability to call self-driving Delamain cabs:

  • Summon the ride via “Call Vehicle” menu → choose Delamain Taxi.
  • Offers the same cinematic AutoDrive experience – but now as a paid cab service.

Enhanced Photo Mode

Your in‑game photography gets a boost with:

  • 27 new NPCs (like Rita Wheeler, the Cassel twins, Dum Dum, and more).
  • Outfit swaps for spawned NPCs and V’s wardrobe in‑mode.
  • Time & weather controls, frame advancement (“Frame Forward”), color-balancing filters, and cinematic overlays/stickers.

Perfect for sharing postcards from the City of Dreams.

Tech Upgrades & Console Enhancements

Patch 2.3 also packs under-the-hood upgrades:

  • Consoles (PS5 & Xbox): Built-in support for VRR—Variable Refresh Rate—enhancing performance and reducing screen tearing.
  • PC: Includes AMD FSR 3.1 frame generation, Intel XeSS 2.0, and HDR10+ support; FSR 4 added but requires a future driver update.
  • Mac: Launches Ultimate Edition on Apple Silicon Macs (16 GB unified memory+), released simultaneously with Update 2.3.
  • Nintendo Switch 2: Will receive Update 2.3 later.

Release Date

  • Patch Notes Reveal: July 16 via REDstreams (Paweł Sasko & Adrien Jouannet).
  • Update Launches: July 17, 2025 – PC, console, Mac; Switch 2 follows later.
  • Initially planned for mid‑June, the update was delayed by nearly a month to ensure quality.

Why This Update Matters

Patch 2.3 reflects CDPR’s commitment to evolving Cyberpunk 2077 from a polished RPG into a full-fledged driving and photo simulator—with:

  • AutoDrive enabling relaxed exploration or efficient transit.
  • New vehicles unlocking more lore and ride variety.
  • Expanded Photo Mode letting players craft and share cinematic snapshots.
  • Technical enhancements delivering smoother visuals and framerate across platforms.
  • Mac support, broadening the game’s audience.

For players eager to immerse themselves in Night City’s neon-lit highways or capture iconic shots, Update 2.3 is a must. With its combination of new vehicles, automated navigation, cinematic tools, and performance upgrades, this patch doesn’t just patch—it enhances the whole experience.
