Riot Games to shift Viego’s power from Mid lane to Jungle in League of Legends patch 11.13.

League of Legends’ one of the most anticipated champions Viego, The Ruined King finally made his way into the Summoner’s Rift earlier this year. However, due to his unique passive, Sovereign’s Domination, he basically became the pre-reworked Mordekaiser where Riot had to focus on fixing all the bugs rather than his balance update.

Viego was initially released to become a Jungle champion. But currently, he only has a 48.53% win rate in the jungle while having an 8.7% pick rate. And instead of playing him in the jungle a lot of pros and soloq players are playing him in the Mid lane where he is performing way better.

In Plat+ soloq, he has a 50.47% win rate in the Mid lane, and building the Blade of the Ruined King as the first item is making him even more solo lane carry threat. Moreover, in the pro games, he has a 56.4% win rate in the Mid lane but in the Jungle, he only has 45%.

League of Legends’ Gameplay Design Director Mark “Scruffy” Yetter has previewed one of the biggest patches of the year patch 11.13. And it seems they are taking away some of Viego’s Mid lane strength to make him more of a Jungle champion in the upcoming patch.

Viego Changes Patch 11.13

  • Q:
    • Minion healing 100 >>> 50%
  • E:
    • Movement Speed: 20-30 >>> 25-35%
    • Missile speed: 1000 >>> 1200
    • Missile length: 700 >>> 775

Riot is nerfing his Q’s healing from minions by 50% to reduce his sustain in the laning phase. And to make him more viable in the jungle, they are buffing his E to increase his mobility.

However, a lot of players think “these changes are terrible” and Riot should have buffed his W instead.

Viego’s adjustments are scheduled to go live on patch 11.13, June 23, 2021.
