Ever since Riot launched the closed beta of VALORANT a few months ago, players immediately started to meme how inconsistent and bad “shorty” was in the game.
The official release also didn’t come with any special buff to the weapon. It is one of those guns that you buy when you are so broke that you can’t even afford a proper economical weapon. Even though “shorty” has its place in the game, most players with medium to bad aim usually avoid “shorty” for a piece of mind.
Recently a VALORANT fan created a dedicated parody song featuring shorty. The song is a direct parody of Iyaz’s song replay.
Shorty is definitely one of the most unpredictable and inconsistent guns in the game. So much so that some players think that only their shorty just does less damage compared to their opponents. Furthermore, most players in the VALORANT community think that shorty is just a meme weapon.
Is shorty really that bad?
However, at the high-level pro players are sometimes spotted carrying shorty as a secondary gun to their operator. Even players like TenZ who is a professional VALORANT player for Cloud9 admitted that shorty compliments his operator perfectly.
While most players in the community think shorty is just straight up unusable, for the most part, that seems to be not true. Although the random element of this gun can sometimes make you lose some easy kills. Thus it created a meme status around itself as the worst weapon in the game.
