Albralelie’s Take on the New Rank System

After many thoughts and discussions, Respawn finally brought significant changes to the Season 13 ranked system. The changes in the new rank system affected all sorts of players with different skill bases.

Albralelie was one of the few players who worked as an advisor in the revamped rank system in Season 13. According to a tweet from a Respawn dev named Josh Medina, many famous names in the community, alongside Albralelie, gave their valuable feedback on improving the new rank system, which made the new rank system possible.

In a recent Twitch stream, Albralelie addressed many aspects of the new and old ranked systems. He mentioned that the old ranked system was full of flaws, where anyone and everyone could reach certain ranks as participation trophies without much effort.

In his opinion, the previous ranked system gave players “a false sense of confidence” about their placement on the rank ladder. According to him, the same players will have difficulty in the lower ranks in Season 13.

However, he perceived the difficult rank ladder as a good thing because now players have to put in the utmost effort and step up their gameplay to climb up the rank, which will eventually create a healthier competitive environment.

Like Albralelie, ImperialHal also had a similar opinion about the solo queue players’ grind to the Master and Predator rank. Albralelie also thinks that solo players should not be able to reach Master and above rank that easily in a team-based game like Apex Legends.
